" Little Joe " took a long , slow process to bring the best out of .... it will cost a lot to pry him away & there's no guarrentee he'll perform as well away from the Swans . Just can't see him leaving anytime soon
If Allen wants offski Swansea will not have much say in it. mind you i doubt any club will pay that sort of fee, clubs can get better players with more experience for that amount, if Allen goes to say Arsenal, Wenger would buy him for the future.
Dragon Ramsey is worth 20/25 big ones now, Allen would be a future aquisition for someone like Wenger, Allen is a couple of years behind in his development compared to ramsey, as good as joe allen is going to be i would still rate ramsey ahead of Allen because he is technically a better player.
I'm sorry Mabon, but I watched a fair bit of Ramsey this season, and compared to Joe, he's pants, I really don't see where your coming from with this, as even Arsenal fans don't rate Ramsey, and many gunners were calling for him to be dropped from the starting line up, a good few times this season!........20/25 big ones ???............
All this talk from Dai about 19 Million being over valued after a season in the PL but didn't Caroll go to Liverpool for 35m after just one season in the Premier League? We're now a Premier League team and if we want to continue growing we need to play the game our way on and off the field and that means not selling our best players to "big clubs" for small prices just because we're still in the "little old Swansea" mentality.
We have plenty of cash in the bank so we should be in a strong position when people come along with derisory offers. Joe has got to be worth £10m. He had Henderson in his pocket and he was £17m. Any new contract negotiations have to have big release clauses in them.
get real ffs how good do you think joe is at the moment and why is a club offering £3 million ??? granted he is worth more but not £16 million more ....£5 million and we should be happy...i personally dont want to sell him but joe might have his head turned with a chance of european football....Arsenal is a big draw so he must think about it...If we can squeeze anything above £5 million we will be lucky, lets hope we can keep him...
Don't be stupid Dai! Why the hell should we be happy to take 5 million from Arsenal for one of our best players? We're not little Swansea in the lower leagues anymore. We've come a long way from the club who were delighted to sell Scotland for 1.5 million. If we don't want to sell him for 3 or 5 million, we don't have to. If we want to set his price at 19 million we can. We don't go around bowing to "big" clubs anymore saying, yes sir, what ever you say sir. So you get bloody real!
if it went to a tribunal then arsenal would get him for anything between £3-£4 million ....you can bank on it so if arsenal comes back with an approved offer of £5 million and he fancies his chances then he will be off...dont talk so stupid thinking he is a superstar in the premiership because he is not even close yet...a few seasons to go on learning yet....talk about over pricing players because they are reasonable for us....and when brendan says we need 5 0r 6 players to strengthen and some players will move on.....perhaps one of these players could be joe....has the club informed other clubs that bids will be looked at for these players on the list...we dont know how brendan is planning for the future do we....
Ramsey has actually played very well when I've seen him this season bar the odd bad game (as has Allen). Very similar style of player imo but Ramsey's finishing has the edge. Don't forget he's only just back from a long lay-off through injury. Allen should take note though: how much playing time in the Prem has Ramsey had compared to Allen this season? This could be a factor as he's been an ever-present with us. A lot more to come from both players imo.
Jeez guys... chill out, I have seen it all now. People getting wound up and arguing over what was a rumour started on twitter. Nobody has offered £3 let alone £3 million for Joe. The value of a player is only what somebody is prepared to pay, it doesn't matter who that player is and what they have or have not achieved.
I have to echo an earlier sentiment and say thank **** you are not in charge then if you would be happy with £5 million!! Look at the facts and rumours linked with a few players - Siggy - 22, half a season in the premiership and the prices being quotes are between £7 and 10 million Jay Rodriguez - 21, no premier league experience and prices are being quoted around £5.5 - £8 million Snodgrass - 24, no premier league experience - rumours are approx £8 million Ramsey - 21, moved at 18 with no premier league experience - sold for £4.5....3 YEARS AGO Henderson - 21, limited premier league experience before having 1 good season with sunderland...career totals for them was 71 games 4 goals and sold for £20 MILLION Now, Allen - 22, full season premier league experience, has played reasonable well BUT is integral to the way we play and we are not in a position where we would need to sell him and he has 3 years left of a 4 year contract which any potential suitor would have to effectively buy him out of! Only an idiot would be happy with £5million quid as we wouldn't even be able to replace him for that
Fully agree with the above, there is no way we could replace him for £5m, so as said only an idiot would agree to selling him for that sum. And even if an offer came in for double that, first we must accept that offer, then Allen must accept personal terms, the same with siggy now!
Like i said last night the top 4 will not be interested in signing Allen unless it was for their reserve side, he is one for the future, Personally i feel he may attract interest from a premiership mid table outfit but they would not be paying swansea anywhere near £10m. My opinion £5m tops. Dragon as always respect your opinion, but i still say that Ramsey is a better player than our Allen, he still has a long way to go but he will get there.
But Ramsey went for nigh on £5m about 3 years ago, an unproven player in the premier league from the championship. Now you are saying that Allen who is now a proven premier league player is only just worth that now. That doesn't make any sense, just because it's little ole Swansea it's doesn't mean that we can be walked over by the bigger teams in this league. It's about replacing the player if an offer is accepted, £5m won't do that I am afraid. So Allen's value to us is a lot more than that! We hold all the aces, if a team wants him they must first offer a figure that the club deems high enough to consider, we are not hurting for money so the figure had better be a high one. I know some think that £5m is a good offer, but I think the board will consider that as derisory offer and rightly tell them to sod off.
If Ramsay was sold today he would go for 20/25 million, my personal opinion is if cardiff were not in the **** and needed the money ridsdale would not have sold him for 5million it would have been more like 10million. Personally i think ramsey is a better player than joe,
The difference is though we are not in the ****, and Allen is worth more to us than him to a team coming in for him. As for the better player well I think that Allen shades it, and the reason why is that Ramsey was very ordinary in a lot of games last season and his stock has gone down.
So Allen's value to us is a lot more than that! Valleyswan that is exactly my point, we are valueing Allen on what value he is to swansea, which will overinflate is value, but to a club like Arsenal he would be development material as Ramsey was. if wenger wants to spend 10million he will look abroad where he can get more value for his money.
Whether swansea are in debt or not will not come in to it, its what are clubs prepared to pay, and if its a big club the player will try to force a move. If ramsey came on the market there would be a queue wanting to sign him, as there was 3/4 years ago
