Yep not a happy bunch today, can understand they are upset. It’s always a good sign when supporters want to keep a player. And to be fair they don’t have many bitters saying things like “They can have him! He’s rubbish anyway”
I think that the signings of Adam and Downing have mad us very cautious and rightly so, as Sir_Red says they have been disappointing and the likes of Carroll and Henderson also need to improve and fast. With the last two I think they will, the first two need to be sold imo. I have to maintain my stance on Allen I have watched him a lot and feel that he will bring exactly what we need to our midfield, that being energy, acurate passing and someone who dictates the tempo and doesn't get frustrated and start trying to force the play.
Day off today so i think i will go and re watch the Liverpool Swans games from last season. - And Baz yes i think ESPN are showing it tonight, it kicks off at about 11pm though i think
Well as we know, Lucas missed most of the season and Gerrard missed a lot of games too. So we essentially had Henderson, Adam, Wee Jay. Which is great, but we were often overun, especially when we played a two man midfield. Also even if Gerrard is fit then he is not at his best in a defensive midfield role. Allen is the player we lack, he can dictate the tempo, retain possession and has the positional sense and the engine to win hastle and hurry the oppositon. We have to accept that Gerrard and Lucas will miss games, Allen is the perfect cover, altghough I would expect him to start. Allen>Shelvey>Wee Jay>Henderson>Adam Not even putting Aqualani or Cole into that list because god knows what is going on with those two. It looks like we are in for Dempsey and possibly Ramirez. The goals will take care of themselves.
you can get half NUFC's first team for £15m, the future is buyign foreign! Think Allen is a class player but I think £15m is too much at this stage, sure you could whittle it down a bit and still get him. Also how many midfielders are you going to have. Gerrard & Lucas will be starting in the centre surely or will Allen be in there with them?
A bit of a silly statement to make, Joe was playing our way before rodgers was our manger and you're now trying to adopt our style .That won't be the reason he'll join rodgers ,that'll be down to money ,if Utd came in for him he'd choose them as he's a Utd fan and two other points Sigguson connection with rodgers was that they were both at Reading together and yes we are p***ed off with rodgers

Well I won't hold my breath for Ramirez and I certainly don't see JA as a defensive midfielder. You think he will prevent us being overrun in midfield? Good little player he may be but Yaya Toure he certainly isn't. I have no problem with Allen and no doubt he will bring something to the party but he is certainly not worth the sort of money being touted around. Plus does this relegate the (16million pound) lad Henderson to the bench? It may welll slow his progress and also put a player like Suso another step down the pecking order. The one thing I do hope comes from this (if it happens) is that we finally **** Aquillani off for good the moaning ****
if you offered £15m for Cabaye Ashley would probably accept it. And right now i'd say he is head and shoulders above Allen's level!

Not silly, was just pointing out that Allen has spent much more time with Rodgers and enjoyed success playing for Rodgers. The rest of my statement was speculation hence the word "hoping" in my comment.
