"Limbo" can be a nice place to visit. Low taxation,plenty of sun,and whatever! I'm thinking of relocating there.
aswan, I am with you on this, always wanted England to beat Scotland, I just think it is my club play in the English league and I just feel the Scots have over inflated egos when it comes to football.
Sorry,guys,but the Scots' were the underdogs,and I always root for the underdog. The booing of the anthem has been discussed on Radio 5 Live. Nothing of any real importance going on in the world,I guess.
The booing whilst I don't agree with it, as I think people should show a little more respect. It was always going to happen and nobody is hurt by it. Didnt the Welsh fans do the same when we played England at Cardiff.
I suspect history might be getting in the way of showing "respect" to this particular anthem. "Respect" needs to be earned,it's not a given,and I can fully see why the booing was so "formidable",(per BBC). I mute the anthem,it's more a dirge really,and stay seated when it's played in public. Some would deride that action,but I could care less.
It's just a song..... nothing else. Let's face it - the booing and muting is all very childish innit.
Seemingly,many thousands see it as more than "just a song". But if you see it differently,then that's O.K. I will,however,continue to mute,and stay seated. Until a royal decree determines otherwise,and then I will have to go underground.
At least 'God save the Queen' doesn't last very long, unlike some of the anthems played at the World Cup.
The Welsh and French anthems stand out for me. The rest I either mute,or go and make a cup of coffee. However long gstq lasts,it's a lifetime that has run it's course.
Very split here , when my phone rings it plays "" God save the Queen"" ... When I receive a text , the sheep let me know...can be a bit embarressing in the wron.g setting
The Germans have the best anthem I reckon, but none of them would make my top 1000 songs ever. Imagine there was an album called "NOW ! That's what I call a National Anthem"or even worse "NOW! That's what I call a National Anthem 20"

Got no time for the sweaty socks but they do have a cool national anthem. Even if it is a bit rumpity pumpity.
You bet - watch when the camera pans around the crowd at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday - you'll see the most fat chicks in Europe singin' the Welsh anthem.
