The referee in the Cardiff v Leicester game is to be congratulated for his powers of observation, and the execution of the 'rules' of the game.
He showed a yellow card for the Leicester goalscorer for removing his shirt - and revealing a tribute to the Leicester owner who was killed in the helicopter crash last week. Technically the referee was correct -- it's a shame he wasn't as 'sharp - eyed' when the Cardiff defender almost dislocated his arm in stretching it to stop an attempt on the goal line............... but it would seem that this same visual impairment affected the referee at our game yesterday ------ when a defender's hand is raised above his head as the ball approaches him in the penalty area, and connection is made, I would expect to concede a penalty if it was one of our team !.............
............. and returning to matters relating to apparel --- how is it that the officials are unable to see all the shirt-pulling that occurs ?

I'm lost for words, I actually had to google to believe that the referee actually booked the player. This is the problem with rules these days, not just in games, there is no common sense anymore, or in this game no sense of respect and decency which the game is supposedly upholding. Regardless of the rules the ref is an utter moron.

Sorry, but in the instance of Demarai Gray, I have to agree with the referee's decision. Yes, it was an extremely emotional situation, but at the end of the day the referee has to apply the rules - assuming of course that he sees the offence. Yellow cards for tackles are going to be subjective, as are, to a certain extent, penalties for handball. But if a referee blatantly fails to execute his job properly, regardless of the circumstances, then that is just increasing the amount of lubrication on what is already a pretty slippery slope.

I have absolutely NO problem with the referee in applying the rules - I apologise that I was a little bit too subtle in my criticism ( in general l for the amazing lack of observation by the officials of so many occasions when the rules are broken - and perhaps have greater relevance to "rules of the game ", than merely removing a shirt -- hence my reference to two incidents which was seen by THOUSANDS of people (but somehow missed by the officials (( even brb, with his dodgy eyesight must have seen the Fleetwood incident )).
I know that people will tell me that referees have a tough job -- but why is it always the BLOODY OBVIOUS that they fail to see ?

Just to wind you up even more mate, have you seen you can't have your normal seat on Saturday, well unless you pretend to be a Hartlepool fan <laugh>
 
There are times/circumstances where common sense and compassion should allow for discretion, would even the idiots at the FA seriously have pulled the ref on this one, I think not.

I was waiting for you to say that I'd be hung - like a monkey ( Hartlepool history) ----- just so that I could say that, actually you mean " hung like a donkey " ------- I'll get my coat !
 
What happens if another player takes the shirt off for you? The rules only say you get booked for taking YOUR shirt off.

Over the last two games we have had 6, yes 6 very good penalty shouts we should have got. We got none. The opposition had one possible and guess what. They got it. I have long since lost the will to live with regard to Referee decisions and the state of their eyesight. They miss the obvious week in and week out.
