Interview with CR in the Times today (their 'you can't see it unless you pay us' policy makes it pointless posting a link). Once again comes across as level headed and on top of things. You can tell him and Les have been on a 'how to be a director of a football club' course though, he talks a bit about governance and diversity in the boardroom....All sweetness and light with the squad at the moment, including Adel, but he doesn't expect that to last as he will inevitably disappoint some of them with selections etc. Realist as well. Conscious of his 'role model' status as the Premiership's only black manager. Come to think of it, if you look at our boardroom and management team, we must be the most diverse club out there. He has more coaching badges than anyone and is an assessor for the UEFA Pro licence (failed his mate Sherwood on one module). So training should be varied and interesting at least.
Time will tell if Chris R can do the job long term. Right now, though, I'm pleased the team are being coached by somebody holding recognised qualifications who doesn't seem to think his job includes personal PR at all times. I don't remember Alec Stock or Gordon Jago giving many interviews, nor Jim Gregory. Being able to communicate clearly so 11 grown men can play to a plan they all understand in the same way is a major step forwards.
