I got a call last Friday from a job agency asking me to do a Saturday and Sunday (24 hours) and I initially declined having worked all week but they offered time and half so I said yes as I would be able to hire a skip as well as paying my bills.

Payday came Friday and it appeared I was only paid £6.86 p/h so I called the agency to which they said they was not legally obligated to pay me time and half to which I told them to take me off their books.

Does anybody know if there's anything I can do about it or has anybody had the same issue before?

Basically you are ****ed besides burning down the building the agency operates from.

Get work direct from an employer then when he tries to screw you call to his house and confiscate his car until he pays up.

This works better in the building trade. Take the guys van because all his tools will be in it then park it somewhere he won't find it and on double yellows in a no tow zone.

He's down his van , tools and clocking up parking fines.

Oh what fun that week was when we took sheeps head's van. <laugh>

Get it in writing before you do any paid work, especially where bonuses and incentives are concerned.

I never work without a contract. In fact, I'll only work if it guarantees me a minimum of £150 per hour.

£250 at weekends.

As ponders says.

For future reference get it all in writing or record any conversations you have with *****s like that. It's the only way to make sure you don't get ****ed.

As for the company - just slander them to **** around the local area. Just tell them your not legally obligated to say nice things about them.
