I have resorted to asking Adam Campbell and Remie Street how good he is <laugh>

I'm so very confused. What is the Kent league, and is this guy even comparable to a premier league striker?

Well I have watched a fair few Kendal games in my life and the Kent league is, I think, two divisions lower than the league Kendal are in, albeit the other side of the country. Which translates too...**** quality!

    In order:

    Premier League
    Championship
    League One
    League Two
    Conference National (Blue Square Premier)
    Conference (Blue Square) South
    Ryman League Premier
    Ryman League Division One
    Kent League

So, the answer to your question is, at the moment, no. He's 9 levels down. Whether he grows to become an EPL quality striker is another matter though.

Right then. It's a lottery though and we might have latched onto a winner like with Smalling and another example was cited above. It's only a 2 year contract anyway, if he does fail.

I agree. Definitely worth a shot.

I'm just annoyed at the ultra helmets who think we would have spent £2-3mill on a 17 year old from a league 9 levels down.

I.... I don't know what to say. I feel kinda bad how out of hand this has gotten! <laugh>

Anyway, on a serious note before heads start exploding unless Newcastle decided to make a charitable donation out of respect I doubt this kid cost even £10k.

Back when Robbie Dale had his stormer in Blyth's promotion season (to Conference North) and scored 37 goals, Oxford were interested in him and were reportedly lining up a £40k bid (they later decided he wasn't up to standard).

£40k for the star man (which he most definitely was at the time) in his early 20s with a consistant scoring record at Unibond level (2 leagues above Kent league in the pyramid). Hooper is a talented kid but just about breaking into the Sevenoaks team, in no way as proven as Dale was and at 2/3 divisions lower. £5k is probably realistic and at that level, a LOT of money.

I shall wear my 'ultra helmet' with pride. :)

I think Ashley would need to get his head looked at if he did spend more like thousands on him <laugh>

I think we can all agree that such a talent merits a fee of at least £5m-£10m, anything less than that is a bargain.

If you were just on the wind up then you're a cock.

Mind you, it's the sad state the world is in when I believe such statements. People ARE that stupid.
