Jimmy Saville was famously known as a philanthropist, little did people know he was actually a fullonrapist. Saville obviously guilty as sin but still not comfortable with the media witchunt and sensationalism- saw it before with the Bristol fella (Jeffries?) who was more or less character assassinated just for being an eccentric character with close links to a murder victim
Exactly how much proof do you need? Last I heard the police had over 300 lines of investigation. Are you still dubious whether Hitler was the victim of a witch hunt too?
Hehe Craig I know he was guilty- still the media witchunt leaves me a bit unsettled that was the point I've tried to make all through this thread. The worst thing I saw today was on the sun website where it clearly shows him fiddling with a lass
The BBC have announced that they are getting rid of Bob the Builder. A spokesperson said that they can't trust another children's TV figure who claims he is able to fix it. I bet Gary Glitter regrets taking his computer to PC World when Jim could have fixed it for him.
I think the medias going too far sometimes in the stuff they come out with- we know he is a ***** but they are always looking for more juicy stories and angles from the case. Like I say, i think back to the Jeffries case when they put his character through the wringer just because he was odd-looking. This started off like that, obviously the tabloids struck gold but it's a bit disturbing they are making money out of ***** stories now and always trying to find a more titillating angle .
How can exposing a ***** be going too far? You need to have a think about who you're defending. As far as I'm concerned putting his character through the wringer is the least he deserves.

To make it clear for Craig exposing *****s is great, it's the way the media especially the tabloids acts and profits from the situation that i think is bad. Am not repeating myself again, am not repeating myself again..... and why didn't somebody tell me the clocks changed this morning
Peter Hitchens put it best, "it appears i was the only journalist who didnt know JS was a *****. If so why didnt any of them do their job and investigate him. Now its just to sell papers and have a go at the BBC, after the papers go it in the neck about phone tapping. Also if there is a ***** ring in the BBC releasing all the stories just ensures the lawyers will tie it up in knots about not getting a fair trial.
I think he has made it clear as he possibly can that he is not defending Savile, he is attacking the media approach to such matters and I believe he has a very valid point. Equally I do despair when I read that Cary Glitter has had allegations made against him - why not when he was in the spotlight and the whole world had him bang to rights? Another set of investigations against him and more public funds down the swanney! Never mind, the local sausage shop has just come out with atheir latest speciallity; very old meat, rammed into some young, tight skin and hey presto, The Jimmy Savileloy! They do say that 1 in 4 people live next door to a *****phile, but not me! I live next door to a stunning 14yr old lass with a crackin' arse and wonderful tits! Luck of the draw I suppose
If I misinterpreted what you meant then I apologise, but it does baffle me how many people on here are blaming the Press and the Media for profiting from this story instead of focussing on this ****. When it comes to so called journalists we all know the nature of the beast. They are mercenaries, but in this case I'm glad for them to earn their money by tearing him and his mates to pieces in the public arena. Should the truth remain hidden because revealing it profits the Press and Media? Anyone who believes that is part of a problem that allowed Saville to prey on kids under the noses of journalists without ever being exposed.
I don't want to get you wrong as well. So tell me, are you saying that Gary Glitter's part in this shouldn't be revealed because of the cost of an investigation and does that also mean he shouldn't be punished if he was involved?
It just staggers me how all this was swept under the carpet for so long, and that it is all coming out now. You would have thought someone would have shouted loud enough in the past. I must say it always made me wonder what his sexual preferences were being single, and now I know.
