Never saw him play except on YouTube...but love what I've seen.
Kind of fitting he passed when we play Chelsea.
    RIP

RIP Jimmy , he was by far the best player I've seen pull on the shirt ,the two goals he scored against Man Utd and Newcastle where he left half their teams sitting on the floor will live with me till I die
The term GOAT is banneded about far too freely but this man truly was

That goal on 1 minute (v United iirc) is a true thing of beauty.
So lucky cameras were there to capture it

I am so saddened to hear of his passing. He was my all time favourite. A great guy, a great goal scorer and a crying shame that his later years were lived through poor health.
RIP you genuine superstar and thanks for some fantastic memories.

I also weren’t around to have seen him live but watched enough clips and montages. Was clearly someone ahead of his time and his record speaks for itself, phenomenal.

    RIP, Jimmy.

When Jimmy returned from Italy he was offered more money to play for Chelsea but he chose the Lane for the style of football we played, how many players would do that today ? Legend

Gutted to hear this news. Was around before my time but over the years I’ve seen the goals and heard the stats.

The very best striker to play for Spurs and England ever.

R.I.P. He way before my time, but only ever heard and read good things about him. What a life he's led.

Fitting that Chelsea and Spurs play this afternoon. I'm sure there'll be a lovely tribute.

Lucky enough to have seen him play ('67 on) and always remember the way he just seemed to glide across the pitch.
    RIP Jimmy!

Gliding summed him up so well, those pitches back in the day would have slowed a cart horse

RIP the greatest footballer ever bar none. Rip Greavsie. Today we should play for 1 minute and have 90 minutes applause.
