I've recently found out that my car insurance, season ticket and Sky subscription are all renewable. I almost feel like an eco-warrior.
...and in the whole spirit of this new era there's no need to pass a cheque for payment, it's perfectly acceptable to pay by offering wind and a wave.
so you f a r t and wave as you walk out the door? strange currency but at least i know what its all about
That wasn't what your Mrs meant when she said she'd taken care of the payment with a bit of blowing and some hand action.
I think that there is a drainage company that goes by that name. OK that legitimises it as well. Common parlance and all that! Come to think of it I think I live in Haltemprice constituency, or perhaps Beverley. Either way I ve no idea who the MP is?
No, Haltemprice and Howden is a parliamentary constituency that covers and area from Anably all the way to Goole. The now defunct area of Haltemprice was just the area around Anlaby, Willerby and Kirkella.
You cannot be an MP for an area that doesn't exist- otherwise the seat would be just Howden. 'Hull West' doesn't 'exist' as a place either.
There used to be an area called Haltemprice, it was scrapped in 1974 and there is longer a specific area called Haltemprice(which was the question asked). In 1997, following a review of parliamentary seats, a new seat was created that covered a large area from Anlaby, to Cottingham, to Howden, they decided to describe the area from it's outer edge at Howden, to it's other outer edge in area that 23 years earlier had been called Haltemprice, so it was named Howden and Haltemprice. If you got in a cab and said 'take me to Haltemprice' he wouldn't know where the **** to go, as there's no specific place called Haltemprice. The question was answered correctly and once again, you just look like a contradictory, obnoxious dimwit.
and if he lived in the area, it would also help. anyway, thanks for informing that my political area is in fact Haltemprice and Howden. i still dont know who my MP is however, Unless of course its still Mr B'sterd as it used to be on the tele (now that I know where I live anyhows)?
Are you sure? It also included Cottingham. The name of the small hamlet of Haltemprice was taken as a "neutral" name for the District Council. "Hands off Haltemprice" stickers used to be everywhere in Cottingham when I was a boy. (That referred to a campaign against proposed incorporation of Haltemprice into Hull)
That's all correct, I was attempting to keep things as simple as possible, so as to make the point without too much detail. I remember the stickers, I lived in Kirkella at the time.
'Hull' is infact a small area of Hessle Road but because of 'Kingston Upon Thames' calling themselves Kingston, the locals inherited the name 'Hull' instead. Hull used to have two parishes 'Kingston Upon Hull' and 'Sculcoates' until Sculcoates became part of Kingston upon Hull in 1974. Also just another little bit of information there is 29 areas within Kingston upon Hull.
