Mike, its not as if its the first game the likes of Smith and Edwards have been involved in where we have been stuffed!! As for the signings being well thought out, thats a matter of opinion!! Loach was not ratwed by Watford and the same goes for Chambers at Forest!!
Its also not the first match that the likes of martin and JET have been involved in where we've been stuffed if they performed it would give oppositions less freedom to score 6 or at the very least would be a very high scoring match. In fact it could be said that we have only actually scored once this season, the Blackburn goal was an own goal. I bring that up because they're not getting the over the top criticism that the defense is. Its always a team effort. I agree we need reinforcements but the signings shouldn't be knee jerk. Loach and Chambers were both rated untill last season as far as i can tell.
Chopra needs help, we could've done with someone like Ishmael Miller. ****, even Ellington offers a presence up front.
But Mike, most on here have been saying we need another striker as well as.... Agreed that its not always down to the defence but likewise it could also be down to the manager!! As for knee jerk signings, ffs we have been crying out for a CB, RB and striker for ages, hardly ****ing knee jerk is it!! Yes Loach and Chambers were rated UNTIL last season, but after last season they were considered gash!!
one bad season doesn't make a bad player, it just change opinions. Never said that Jewell and the management team shouldn't take their share of the blame. Maybe im not being entirely clear, i agree we need reinforcements at the back. What we don't need is to resign Sonko and Ingi or players like that tomorrow. We need to continue looking for the right players as we have done all Summer. My other point is that no-one should be shunted for one bad performance. At Carlisle on Tuesday id expect a very similar squad, but hopefully with Murray and Lawerence getting an opportunity. If Carlisle cut through easily, then we can really start complaining.
Why the hell does Jewell play Chopra as the target man? This clearly isn't playing to his strengths as he likes to play-off a big striker!
****ty result and I understand why some are calling for defensive additions but I dont think it helps that JET was totally out of sorts again. We need 11 players not 10 and a guy who cant be arsed to do anything for 9 out of 10 matches.He may be stand out for the other one but its a team game and his lack of effort is definately not helping our course. Not defending the team but it sounds like Ince scored two unstoppable goals and set up the rest. definately a bad day at the office but hopefully we wont face his quality too often this season
