If you think he will be "a very good player" and has 'a bright future", why say he is overrated? You complain about the Dad's army philosophy and say we need to buy young hungry players for the future and then knock the young players we have. If we are to build a promotion winning team we need players like Cressy, JET and Smith who can grow and mature and be in the team for a few years to come. We won't get anywhere with a bunch of mercenaries.
He is overated at the moment that's all I'm saying. To read and hear what fans have been saying about him I sometimes wonder if they have been at the same game as me. There is no doubting he has potential but at the moment he is still vulnerable in defence and he doesn't get enough dangerous balls into the box. Like I say, I think that's a fair comment.
Bloody hell Warky couldn't disagree more on that one. He's the most exciting full back we've had since Joe Royle's days! Just remind yourself: Thatcher, Wright, Harding... hmmm tough one!
Erm perhaps performances on the pitch, things PJ says, transfers, how he deals with players, tactics, past achievements etc!! I don't know why I'm even saying this because I'm sure your reply will be ridiculous and just wind me up!! As for Cresswell he is the best LB we've had since Clapham, he is a great prospect. I think he has suffered a little bit from fatigue though at times but we've got a player on our hands and he is the only worthy winner of player of the season. I hope Whight pushes him next season though.
I'm a big big Drury fan. I was one those last year when he first came who thought he was going to be a good player for us and was indeed dissapointed when it looked like he was going to be sold after not really being given an oppertunity. But whilst he has been good and is probably my favourite player, he hasn't appeared enough. Cresswell has appeared in nearly every game and has been very consistent, perhaps hasn't quite hit the form of the first part of the season but still has never let the team down!!
