We all see things differently don't we. I thought Moloney did well. Agree on Wagstaff and Taylor. Elliott broke up play and protected the back four but several misplaced passes gave Tamworth opportunities they did not deserve. And Greg still seems short on confidence but if we start getting some good results, he will be fine. And Baldock still needed about five good chances to get one goal. But overall, an encouraging start to the SC regime.
I prefer Taylor to Haywood, he might of had a bad game yesterday but with a run in the team could prove a good thing for him. Since he's been here he's never been given a run normally due to injuries but he works well with Baldock. Cunningham will IMO get better I always felt SoD restricted Greg. Last season he bombed down that wing, but since SoD he seemed to be not allowed in the final third as SoD liked to play zonal play. Cotterill had Cunningham at Forest so he knows how to play him, with confidence we might see the Cunningham we had last season.
'Quite how Wagstaff missed that open goal too? Looked harder to miss' I thought it was Bryan who missed the unguarded goal. Can someone look on Player and let us know. If it was Wagstaffe .............. 'Just summed up Elliots whole footballing career in one sentence' OR Just summed up Logger's whole footballing nous in one sentence. Elliott isn't the player he was when player of the year in the Championship but he can certainly do a job in L1. Thought SC summed up Marvin after the game perfectly. Spot on RODney - having a day off from the concrete ?
Did I say he couldn't do a job in league 1?? He can tackle, protect the back four but he can't pass for ****, there's a reason no other team has poached him in recent seasons.. But don't let me or anyone else stop you thinking Marvin Elliot is the hybrid of zidane, maradona and pele rolled into one...
Thats 10 minutes more than Haywood..(might as well jump on the joke here) Oh and Elliot was nothing more than adequate against a conference side. We will get ripped to shreds by better midfields with him there. He's lost the ability to stay with a man, legs look gone to me.
We will get ripped to shreds? Elliots been at the heart of the midfield of our worst team in decades (last year), and is now at the heart of the midfield for a division 3 team in the relegation zone He needs to move on, I think every city fan sees he's past it now, apart from one person..
