Can I just say, I was completely unmoved by this lad from day one. I know **** all about him other than a handful of sky stats and a bit on you tube. I'm neither jealous of the mags or gutted for us and I have no idea at all whether he is of any use.

If could be a world beater or a complete flop. Who'd have thought Torres would have been so ****e at Chelsea and Ba so brilliant up the road.

Let's see what he does on the pitch before we get all hot and bothered.

To be fair I did not really thing MON was likely to sign this guy. If you looks at MON's past signings he usually goes for English based players, either proven ones or ones that are young that he can develop. Look at what he did with James Milner and Ashley Young. I can't actually think of a big signing that has been of a foreign player who does not have EPL experience signing MON has ever made, maybe John Carew??

I fully expect MON to look at loaning a player with EPL experience. I also expect many on here (including myself) to be disapointed by the signing and then proved wrong.

I also expect him to spend in the summer once the whole Gyan situation is cleared up and Campbell has shown if he is going to make it back to the same level as before his injury.

Look at it this way if this Cisse thing had happened under Bruce we would be in tripple meld down on here by now.

    I trust MON, I think he's a great manager.

However, I do think we've missed a trick here. We've been crying out for a striker and Cisse looks like he could have the lot - big and strong, quick, good finisher. He admits he wants to come here, he's available for little more than we got for loaning Gyan, and we stand back and let him join NUFC. We missed out like we missed out on Ba, like we missed out on A. Johnson...

I hope we don't come to regret it. Fair play to the Mags, Pardew has done a cracking job there. What a turnaround in 18 months or thereabouts, and that strike force really is one to be feared. I think Ba will stay and I think they could be in Europe next season. I hope we are there as well, but Bendtner and Ji aren't going to take us there.

Just twopence worth from a distance. If this player was an outstanding talent then I feel a bigger German club would have taken him before now. From my ancient knowledge of German football Freiburg were always a "feeder" club to the better off ones.

Oh dear, now I'm fickle for daring to be aying we need a striker. At what point have I said I dont trust MON? I am overjoyed with MON and have no problem whatsoever with him. I do however remember everyone telling me how we have needed a striker for 12 months, how we never replaced Bent.

I know nothing about Cissie apart from what the many in here have told me and along with all of those I got excited about him joining us, I honestly am at a loss at how you cant see that.

What I do see is many suddenly deciding that now he has joined Newcastle he was no good anyway.

What you call fickle I call just being honest but hey, lets not upset people by being honest, disagree by all means but please, fickle.

I to know nowt about the lad but I'm sure MON or one of his team do. It appears we were never in for him anyway which suggests Mon doesn't rate the lad.
    That'll do for me.

Sorry about the fickle thing...Out of order.

Meh. I'm unmoved either way. If it was Defoe or someone of that ilk I would be disapointed, but hey ho, it isn't and I know little to nothing about him so can't be.

On a side note, the rumours of him leaving Frielberg started when they signed his replacement earlier in the day. Could he be Demba Ba's replacement? Just saying like.

    In MON we trust

Going back to the days of BBC606, I remember a similar level of disappointment that was being expressed by many when Boro signed a certain player ahead of us called Afonso Alves.
