Gem of the Norfolk coast. Bar none!
...or, at least, so says this 'journo' - who, coincidentally happens to be called Cameron <yikes>
http://readnorwich.com/2015/09/17/jeromes-off-mark-hes-still-not-answer/?

He ends with "I know many will disagree with me, but you must forget his Wembley heroics and open your eyes to the facts. Cameron Jerome has never proven himself in this league and I don’t expect that to change any time soon."

Well, I'm sorry, 'Cameron', but I think you're taking a pretty blinkered view (in fact I think you're a ****ing idiot <ok>) You don't know how Stoke and Palace set up to play when he was there, what support there was from midfield, etc.
In a Norwich shirt, imho, his greatest assets are his mobility, hold up play and ability to bring our midfield into the game from dangerous positions. I expect so see the goals shared around a little, with Wessi, Howson, Brady, Jarvis and Redmond all chipping in. So it's not all about Jerome and his individual tally.
Mbokani may well be an 'upgrade', as the article suggests, but does the author really, really think that to score goals in Belgium and Ukraine is a viable barometer of how a player will adapt to the Prem?? <doh>, if so!
Sorry, turned into a Rob-esque, long winded post, but I feel better that it's out there now!! :emoticon-0157-sun:

I think he's probably improved since joining us and dropping down a division has helped him rediscover that goal scoring touch.

He's certainly capable of hitting double figures and with the help of others chipping in with goals that should be perfectly fine.

I agree that it's silly to write him off as not good enough when he's consistently got into good goal-scoring positions in all our games so far (except perhaps for the Saints game).

However, he's had 5 full seasons (I think) in the Prem, and reached double figures just once (11 goals for Brum back in 2009/10). In the other four seasons he's never scored more than 4.

If he continues to score at his current rate (and plays every Prem game of course) he'll get 7 or 8.

Barring refereeing injustices that could easily be 2 in 5 instead of one and extrapolated to 14-16, and that would be a handsome return!

Bah!

Thanks Cromer for starting this thread, as I was fuming when I read that 'blog'. Anybody who goes back to his record in the PL needs to look at how many appearances were as sub as well as what position he was playing (eg. wide like Lafferty). You then have to look at the managers and their style of play (MacLeish at Brum and Pulis at Stoke). As Cromer points out, he plays a very different role as the lone striker in AN's approach, where he's a striker yes, but also the key player, along with Wes, for assisting goals. He's there to cut balls back to midfielders running into the box and that creates many more chances than a selfish Jordan Rhodes 'target man' style striker up front. I'd say his 21 goals in the Championship last year will translate into around 11-12 goals this year (Holt scored 24 in the Championship and 14 in the PL, for example). I'll be even more pleased if GM's 14-16 occurs!

Leave Cam alone - the effort he puts in and the fact that he drags defenders all over the place benefits others in the team. Given a good run I'll tip him to get 10-12 this season and create for others twice that many.

Mbokani's arrival will keep him on his toes but Cam would be one of the first names on the team sheet for me at the moment.

I'm not sure how you can say that after a 10 minute cameo when his not match fit? You never know he may be very good.

I thought for a moment if we find ourselves chasing the game at home it would be interesting to see them both play with Wes as AM and Redmond on the wing.

Jerome for me anyday his work rate is incredible and like someone else said if not for referees pathetic decisions and brilliant goal keeping from Butland he could be on 4 or 5 by now

Maybe take the trouble to do some research.....? He's ok, and can look dangerous on Youtube compilations, but when you dig a little deeper he is VERY one footed and a little.....crude? Brilliant a league down, but Im sure Prem defenders will know exactly which side to show him.

Not sure where you get this 'one footed' label from, FL, but I think Dieumerci will surprise a lot of teams (and some of our own fans) when push comes to shove. We'll find out soon enough.

Exactly Rick. You can do all the research you like on YouTube, but it counts for very little. We won't know until we've seen him properly in action.
I have quite a good feeling about this guy.
