Rob Tanner just tweeted this Hmm, there may be something in this Beckford story after all! Set for another interesting day in the life of LCFC!
Oh no - this Waltzer ride was great fun at the start but the media whirlwind personified by a greasy gypo thinking you want to be span even faster is making me want to get off sharpish!
So we have made a bid for Beckford after all hopefully this gets accepted and we complete the deal today and he plays tommorow but thats unlikely. He is a simaliar type player to Maynard but just without the injury past
Why go for beckford i think i would have yakubu than beckford but they are both lazy strikers. I hope this isnt the big signing that everyone was on about
I don't think Beckford is lazy, certainly not compared to the Yak. Whenever I've seen him, he always plays on the shoulder of the defence and tries to run in behind and is always looking to make those runs which is what we need IMO to counter those teams who come and park the bus.
GameOf_2Halves Game Of 2 Halves Leicester might have bid for Jermaine Beckford, but unless it is massive Everton won't accept. He/she was the first to report our Gelson Fernandes interest so they probably knows something. Bid was £2.5 million apparently.
This is my first ever post on here so be gentle with me...... In my opinion Beckford is exactly the sort of player we need following Saturdays performance (yes I was there). Direct, quick and powerful someone who scares the opposition and also creates a buzz and anticipation around the ground whenever he turns and faces the goal a la Sclupp on 2/3 occasions Saturday but he needs time to adapt and learn his trade....... We all want a goalscorer we can hero worship now and Beckford would be a great buy in my eyes.
Stringer just tweeted #lcfc have placed a bid of around £3m for Everton striker Jermaine Beckford BUT it's unlikely David Moyes will let him go #efc
I'll take stringers word for it, would be a good buy, but does Moyes rank Yakubu above Beckford? How many strikers do Everton have and how many are regular starters/ bench warmers?
ooh ng10 fox just down the road, do you do home games from long eaton station?, we've started to lately, £8.80 return with no hassle, and back to L/E station at 5.58 pm on sat matchdays...................... happy days
Everton have Saha, Anichebe, Yakubu and Beckford. They sold James Vaughan to Norwich and wanted Shane Long but they couldnt raise the funds
This is an interesting development. There was a poster on the Leeds board who said he had insider info this morning. He said people close to Everton FC told him a bid had been made, it had been accepted and it was all upto Beckford to sign. He seemed pretty confident about that fact - but at the time i gave no notice. But who knows...he certainly knew about the bid before SSN reported it!
We do yes, first one from the station was Saturday although my lad (aged 7) was whinging whilst walking to and from the KP!! The train times are spot on you're right.
I wouldn't read too much into it PYFU. Why would the guy have inside information about Everton when hes a Leeds fan?
We all know for sure a bid has been made and as of yet there is nothing to suggest it has been accepted or rejected so we just have to wait and see
Yeah, we could use a wide attacker, we have Nugent who can do this, but need someone else on the other wing (which is why im dissapointed that we missed out on Earnshaw)
