People suggesting Short would sanction the sale of Defoe for peanuts are being absolutely melodramatic. He's trying to recover his investment. Not go on some crusade against the future of the club
Even when not scoring opposition his prescence alone worries oppsition defenders leaving more space - unfortunately we don't often take advantage of this but onwards now to Turf Moor - which was first away match I went to and we won 3-4 after being 3-0 down iirc. Pull-on - KTFSpot on tel. He's class! I was dubious when we signed him but am happy to be eating the humblest of humble pies!!
He has 1 in 4 games where he doesn't play as well as he can, but he still looks likely to score!
Good if pointsIf short wants his money out of the club
He will sell anybody
Including us down the river.
He's not bothered what league we are in as long as he can leave with the money
If in fact what has been said he wants rid of the club is true.
Yeh to many ifs and butGood if points
If Bains views of Short are right Short has our interests at heart - bottom line for me is as he's a successful venture capitalist success for him will be his investment succeeding & that is Sunderland.
Too many Ifs & but ifs so I'm just going to KTF
If BFS makes a bid for Defoe - he will go, who wouldn't? A team in trouble season after season, and of course in a geographical backwater, London and an increase in Salary to top up his pension fund- why not?
All business dealings say that selling a living swimming duck is a bloody sight more viable than a dead one.If short wants his money out of the club

If in fact what has been said he wants rid of the club is true.Absolutely not true. Selling the clubs assets off cheaply will disproportionately reduce the price he can get for the club.
No way is he actively trying to make less money back for himself. Ridiculous.
If in fact what has been said he wants rid of the club is true.
Yeah he wants to get rid of the club. He wants to recoup as much of the money he's put in that he can. Not give it away for free.
Let`s consider that Short has 2 alternatives.
a). Keeps the club as it is and sells it as a going(ish) concern.
b). Sells off the assets (Pickford, Khazri,Kone,Defoe) to reduce what he is owed and flogs the rest for what he can get.
I hope he doesn`t choose b) as there will be no safe haven. He`ll need to move out of his castle cos the ****er will be under siege, but, and it`s a big but, isn`t that how he made his billions?
B doesn't work of you flog assets off on the cheap. It only works if you sell them at top dollar.
Also... The clubs biggest asset is premier league money. I doubt he wants rid of it before he sells.
If there's anything to be learned from the last few years is that the guy hasn't got a clue what he's up to. Assuming he is doing the sensible thing only goes against the grain with that bloke.
JD must stay though, I'd sell Khazri and Lens in January and see what you can get for that money.
Forgot about him.
Half expect Sam to have a look at Khazri. Gave him plenty of game time & Moyes doesn`t seem to rate him at all.
Perhaps mate, I think palace need defenders first mind.

Have few more and put some phantom bids in to drive the price up.Right, Palace & Everton can fight over Kone.
Gerrim on eBay. Reserve £40m.
