How many Labour MPs would Jeremy have in an Indy Scotland @ST? [emoji85] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]
I'm typing this slowly to give you a better chance of understanding it. Jeremy doesn't back independence for Scotland because he needs the Labour MPs to get him into Downing Street. The problem for him is he fails to understand just how utterly useless Scottish Labour is.
Read your words. You said campaigning against Indy caused a massive loss of MPs stopping Jeremy becoming PM. Indy would have lost ALL MPs. Your timeframe is incorrect too as during the campaigning for Indy Jeremy was a backbencher. Just admit you made a mistake and we can move on.
I didn't say Jeremy campaigned against Scottish independence, I said Labour campaigned against it (both in Scotland and Westminster). Try reading my words. I made the point that Jeremy wants independence for every country bar Scotland because he needs Scottish MPs to get him into No. 10. Try reading my words.
The man who wants independence for every country apart from the ones that would benefit him? The man who campaigned to remain in Europe because he thought Remain would win but is now clearly in favour of leaving because leave won? The man who abstained on a vote to debate Syria in Parliament, who abstained on amendments on Brexit, who abstained on devolution powers for Scotland etc? Principled
I'm willing to look past the timeframe, that's just down to your ignorance. However claiming Labour campaigning against indy would somehow give them less less MPs when the alternative is zero MPs is just bonkers.
No, Mindy. I said that Labour campaigned against independence because they wanted to hold on to their MPs.
And how did that work out for them? Labour in Scotland or "Scottish labour" campaigned against indepence because that's what they were told to do by their masters in Westminster. Many of Labour in Scotland's Scottish voters will never forgive them for sharing a platform with scum Tories.
I said Labour campaigning against independence nearly made them extinct in Scotland which meant that they lost dozens of MPs. I said Jeremy wants to hold onto Scotland because he needs the MPs to get him into No. 10. This is for the next election, not the last one - unless you want to travel back in time. In short: Labour campaigned against indy - made them toxic - meant they failed to get enough MPs elected in 2017. Jeremy - doesn't want Scotland to become independent - hopes to get enough MPs elected in Scotland in future election to put him into No. 10. Do you understand? Or do you want me to draw it for you in crayon?
Yes, but Jeremy thinks he can win them back, hence his desperation to cling on to Scotland. A point that seems to be beyond our Mindy.
