Would be interested to know if Bony was one of Laudrup's target.

Martinez was presented with an opportunity to work with a Premier League club. Think if Swans got promoted that year, Martinez would have stayed on.

All I was saying swansalona was I would have liked to see how Martinez and Rodgers would have got along with the type of finacial backing Laudrup received . I'd be a fool to not be happy with Laudrup's results , but Martinez and Rodgers had very , very good results with a lot less money.

Well if Laudrup didn't bring Bony in , and Huw was whinging about Bony when he was struggling so I'll assume Huw didn't bring him in LNB , who could bring him in .I'd sure like to shake his hand whoever it was , the guy is class on more than one level .

First season Laudrup only brought in one player who cost over £2M. Considering we lost Sinclair, Sigurdsson, Caulker, Allen and later Graham, Laudrup spent very little. What would Brenda and Bobby have done with the same money? much less than buy a Michu I'd guess. Let's not forget as soon as Brenda got control of the purse strings at Liverpool he spent £15M on Joe Allen.

Also only spent a combined £20million on Sturrridge and Couthino, which was really astute business.

If only we managed to keep these two, what a difference they would have made.

Inherited a good team , brought in some great bargains ,made Routledge a new player . It's the 2nd season money that I wish Martinez and Rodgers had a chance at . No probs with Laudrup's first season , or the ongoing one really , but nobody got money at swansea like Laudrup did his 2nd season .

"Only £20M" is probably about right for the pair.

True. Think he did well with the signings though. Bony, Shelvey (not sure if Laudrup actually signed him) Amat and Canas all good signings. Not sure on Pozuello yet. Can't see Vasquez here next season. We've just been decimated by injuries. Laudrup has been fortunate with the amount of money he's had to spend, but both Brenda and Matinez were very fortunate on the injuries front.

I'm surprised Jenkins never went in for Caulker. Proven for us and worth £8M easily.

Very fortunate on the injury scene for the previous 2 managers , lot of intangibles trying to compare , I've not seen a team so infested with injuries as Laudrup's this season It's causing a lot of anxiety amongst the faithful. Frankly I'd have taken Chico over Caulker at the same price but to get Chico at what we got him for was a blessing , just my opinion

I think its fair to say that all laudrups signings that he wasn't sure about are the loan deals, we could be forgiven for thinking we have been done but in fairness to laudrup he hasn't risked our money at all ,he could have maybe signed schector or Vasquez permanent instead of on loan, same with lamah and jdg , maybe laudrup didn't take the chance with these players for a reason, probably thought they were worth a punt on loan and nothing elsse, so fair play to him he is spot on !

Agree. If Cardiff go down and we stay up, I'd like us to go in for him as he is far to good for the championship.

He's got a few key players injured now so it will be interesting to see how Everton do without them.

Disagree here. For me Caulker is better than both him and Ash. Amat and Caulker next season with Barkley and either Ash or Chico as back up would add real depth to the CB positions.

We should get rid of Ash, as he's a bit of a liability these days.
