Alright lads, any info on him.
Has been on your bench , getting games for the reserves , has been keeping fit or been injured recently? I can't remember seeing play for a long time, and even when he was top of his game I thought he was overrated. But in Harry I trust ;)
 
He's suffered with injuries recently, including a failed spell on loan at Forest this season and one at Villa in the last campaign, so it's a bit surprising that you decided to take him off our hands, to be honest.
I assume that Redknapp must've seen something that he liked during his time at WHL, but he's not been getting many games for us for a while now.

Hopefully he'll get over his fitness issues and put in some decent performances, as he's capable of it, especially against Arsenal, but he's never been that consistent, unfortunately.
 
He's a crock and from what I heard he failed to make a good impression at Forest on loan earlier in the season. It's a shame because before all the injuries he was a very useful player for us.

I can't see why 'Arry wanted him but he's helped turn around careers before and if you get him playing like he used to he'll be a good signing. I just can't see it happening though.
 
Jenas only featured in our opening two matches of this season - as an unused sub away at Newcastle and for the last 14 minutes at home to West Brom.

Many Spurs fans will be happy to see the back of him, but I always thought he was a decent player although he never quite fulfilled his early potential.

I wish him the best with QPR.

I took a real dislike to him when he took his turn punditting on the TV.

Can't see him getting much game time either.
 
He was a good player when we signed him. He had his moments at Spurs too. He was part of a decent midfield duo at one point (i forget with who).
Mostly he didn't fulfill his potential.
 
Jenas is the type of player that I expect will rise to the challenge and impress in the short term. When he was a 1st team regular, he would enjoy looking like a world beater against Derby, score goals in north london derbies but when faced with any other top opposition, would go into his shell and play sideways as the easy option.

There is ability there, the guy is a great athlete and Arry has signed him as QPR need some drive and energy from midfield, If Jenas is on form then he can provide this, just don't expect too much from him, as even if he does rise to the challenge, he will go missing in games.... BUT he can score important goals, so as this is a 14 game season to save QPR, its all short term and that could suit Jenas.
 
I view Jenas in the same way I viewed O'Hara - I don't really dislike them in any way but I don't think they'll make it at Spurs with the level we're aiming at (no disrespect meant in any way to QPR or Wolves) and with the players ahead of them. I'd love Jenas to make a comeback and play well, maybe not against us(!), and really make a career and establish himself like he hasn't been able to do in recent years at Spurs. If Harry can inspire him and get him playing he'll do well for QPR, as long as his attitude is right.
 
Northolt...you got yourself a gem...potential world class...ignore his so called injury record that was a ploy by Spurs to keep JJ wrapped in cotton wool for the big games.


On that note I think you and your fellow R's need to petition to sign our other gem in David Bentley. Don't tell anyone I told you.

One of the most frustrating players at Spurs over the years. At times he looked like he could develop into quite a special player - and to be fair, put in some decent performances for us over the (earlier) years - but ultimately flattered to deceive. And his 'great engine' never quite made the difference for him.

But as others have said - no hard feelings and wish the guy well, as he was a decent servant to the club.
 
oh, someone should probably have said - divided the fans like no other player i've ever known, so asking what we think of him was always gonna get a complete mixed bag of responses
 
On his day, he has everything. He can tackle, has bags of energy, is a good passer and he has a ferocious shot. Unfortunately his day, (when he is fully fit, which is seldom) comes about one game game in ten. Apart from Bentley he was the player most fans would like to say goodbye to. If he couldn't get a sniff with Harry in charge here, it's mystifying why he took him to Loftus Road. I wish you luck.

There's some confusion on this.

In one of Harry's deadline day interviews he either said "We brought in Jenas and Townsend on loan" or "We brought in Jenas, and Townsend on loan"; The comma adds a subtle difference.

Most places are reporting that it's a permanent transfer, though I must admit when I heard the Redknapp interview it sounded like they were both on loan.
 
I for one thought he was on balance good for us. He had some shockers but he also achieved heights that many other players couldn't match - which is why it is more frustrating that he didn't continue to live up to his potential. I remember the classic goal Bale scored away at Milan (the one that was turned into that extraordinary animation that looked like a moving watercolour painting). It was Jenas who put in the tackle on the edge of our box and passed to Bale. He then charged up the pitch after Bale and at the end of that amazing run was still in the frame when the ball went in the net. Very few players would have been able to keep up with that move.
