I never said anything about me condoning Chang's actions - they are embarrassing. But I don't have any sympathy for Jenkins. Would you like me to play a small violin for him?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...s-claims--Charles-Sale.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre is mounting an investigation into the background behind the extraordinary claims in a fan’s blog, written under the alter-ego Duncan Jenkins, alleging serious harassment by the club’s director of communications Jen Chang. Ayre is due to speak to Jenkins - whose real name is Sean Cummins - as well as Chang and others involved in an unseemly episode which started when Jenkins started publicising information Chang believed must have come from inside Anfield. Chang describes Jenkins’s allegations about threats made at a genuine meeting in Manchester as ‘fictitious nonsense’ but his position looks vulnerable if Ayre decides otherwise. I imagine we'll need an investigation into the thing to see how much truth there is in the allegations. If it's even partially true then he should be off imo. Threatening someone and their family- even indirectly- is completely unacceptable. Not to mention illegal. Chang will presumably deny it, but whether it can be proven or not- the damage is done. Just when we need to keep our heads down and get on with the football, we get yet another disastrous bit of publicity which the haters will use to attack every one of us.
It just seems to be one thing after another really. Normally, I wouldn't mind all the bullsh*t that is going on IF we were winning. But all the negativity off the pitch is amplified due to our shortcomings on the pitch.
They won't sack him and he doesn't sound like the type to feel guilty and fall on his sword. They'll apologise to Cummins and try and bury the rest.
If you call yourself a true Liverpool fan you should always be sympathetic and show support to your fella reds when they abused by a corporate stooge who is damaging the club by abusing his power. I thought that would be obvious to any LFC fan since we know our role and constantly talk about the strong bond between each of us and how we look after our own when they need it. I'm not talking about you, but too many people have either became Jealous of DJs success and what he was able to achieve in such a short amount of time and how powerful/influential he became and our bitter (usually failed wannabee LFC bloggers and Twitter ITKs no-one gave any credence to) or fell for DJs wind up hook, line and sinker and now feel a bit stupid to have given him so much regard over everything LFC so have reacted against him. What a small, vocal minority of LFC fans are missing on this issue is that this has nothing to do about the virtues of DJ or his creater and what he did, and everything to do with LFC having an unsavvy, inept, incompetent, power-greedy, control-freak bully in charge of the clubs PR and Media policy and relations and that is no good for LFC moving forward and he needs to be replaced by someone who can actually do the job properly without having to resort to Private Investigators and bully-boy tactics. If Reds can't understand this their supporting the wrong team, although I have noticed age of the fan seems to be a big indicator of how they will react to Chang-gate.
That is a very astute observation. Its not on the Owners though, its Changs neck on the line. Although I am concerned over just how many high profile appointments they've got wrong already in just 2 years.
Ayre is out the country till end of week but will be conducting a thorough investigation including all parties involved as well as bystanders/witnesses next week.
It wasn't the owners last time but their son who took offense to an email right? Hicks kid if I remember right, blow me ****face, that went well! Ya, I agree with the hirings and firings in the corporate level and manager level has been pretty all over the place when we need that stability. Hopefully it is coming though.
I feel this has been TOTALLY blown out of proportion I think DJ is hilarious and did seem to bet gettin all his predictions right, BUT if he cares so much about LFC he should let it go As for Chang it will be a shame if he goes, cos the guy REALLY REALLY does know his football, if Chang stays I can see LFC going some heavyweight names in the future, instead of some of the mediocrity we have been going for in the past It seems that when anyone gets a position of power people wanna bring him down, Jen needs to stay in the interests of LFC Why so much focus on this and none on NESN website leakin the Dempsey transfer Jen needs to stay if he does, we will be lookin at TOP QUALITY players like Damiao and Isco in January, if he goes we will looking at mediocre cheaper options like Ba and Hooper, and the owners need to get there hand in there pocket
In the interests of fairness, there might be more to this. The following isn't exactly the other sides view but a 3rd view if you like. Somebody repost the link if they want as its from the iPhone. http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2012/10/time-to-nail-some-lies/#.UH0vcSDme6Q.twitter And remember I'm not a Chang fan.
There's a vote, Tea ladies do too. Did you not hear Bendans speech about how everyone on the club was part of the effort on the pitch?
I am CERTAIN that as well being press officer that Jen Chang will have JWHs ear on transfers, in other words if BR targets someone I would be surprised if JWH doesnt ask opinions of people on what they think of BRs targets, I am certain Chang will be one of the people he asks.Perhaps he shouldnt as he isnt qualified, Chang is only a journalist, but Chang REALLY REALLY knows who the quality players are in world football. If Jen had been at LFC in the summer of 2011 we may have had Cazorla and Mata, not Downing and Henderson. There were rumours of LFC sniffin around Damiao the last 2 days of the last window, if true I wouldnt be surprised if Chang had some involvement in it Hes not "blinkered" to the Premier League as most people in this country are, he realises that if LFC are to become a world force again , then 90% of our transfers will come from abroad.South America and Spain especially were the REAL quality is
Not so sure I agree with this. We apparently turned Damiao away because he was to focused on getting huge wages, and Rodgers did not like that about him. The owners will still bring in their transfer panel. They have already said that two key members of this panel are surving large notice periods with their current clubs. They are allowing this as they are sure they are the right men for the job. I believe these two men are the head scouts from Manchester City. Once this panel is in place they will not need Jen Changs opinion. I also think they will trust Rodgers more than you suggest. They clearly like him a lot. They allowed him to sign Borini and Allen. Dempsey didnt fit their transfer policy. Jen Chang may have got the job to clear up any bad relations left behind from the Suarez case last year.
Why the hell is the Communications Director dealing with who we buy or who we don't? That's got sod all to do with him. The NESN website story (non-story) wasn't anything to do with the club directly. Chang is, and if this ****'s true he sounds like the exact oppopsite of the sort of person I want at the club. Leaves a dirty taste...and it's yet more bad publicity. The other point to make is the bullshit about us paying extra for Borini because "the story leaked and Roma were angry about it". If that WAS the case then Chang shouldn't be hunting non-existent moles he should be asking what sort of half-arsed negotiators we have at the club.
He did a really good job of helping BR out with the Dempsey deal then eh Too busy chasing shadows? Seriously though I do hope our Communications Director (whoever it may be at the time) has **** all to do with transfers or I will be seriously worried about the structure within our club. In fact if true we might as well all pack up and go home now...
