    WTF does Steling Know?

Losing Modric will make little difference to us. Win ratio with Modric was 46%, without him it was 44%. Personally I'd like to see Huddlestone given a chance, I've always thought that we look more likely to score with him on the pitch. We obviously need to sign a striker, Ade or similar would be useful. If we start well we could finish high up, even top 3, a bad start then it could be 6th (or worse).

I expect to see the Chavs weaker without Drogba, that man is irreplaceable, I hated his diving and rolling around but he had had the knack of scoring important goals. If Torres doesn't click they might be struggling for goals. They will finish between 4th and 8th.

I expect Citeh to win it unless they make a bad start which could lead to an implosion. Citeh are the only side that can stop Citeh this season.

Man U must soon start to suffer from the cancerous affect of the Glaziers syphoning money out of the club. £29M in 'Consultancy fees' and 40 odd million in dividends (to pay back loans to the Glaziers) in not sustainable. The failure of their NY share flotation, which incidently values the club at only £500M, is worrying when they owe ITRO £400M. The Glaziers are never going to sell the club for that kind of money so success on the field will be secondary to bailing out the Glaziers other businesses. Man U might finish as low as 5th. Even if they sign RVP I doubt if he will ever have as good a season as last year. If Man U finish outside the top 4 the ****e will begin to hit the fan at Old Toilet.

Loserpool have improved their squad and manager (which wasn't difficult) despite paying OTT for players. It looks more balanced and I believe they could finish as high as 2rd.

The goons??!!. I'd love to say that thay are ****ed but they are not. Losing RVP wont make much difference, most seasons they are missing him for at least 50% of the games. They have made 3 signings, one excellent one (SC) and two average ones. Their defensive weaknesses means that they are unlikely to challenge for the title but top 4 is still likely.

Newcastle will start full of confidence after last year, not many changes which is good. Top five or six I would guess, possibly a bit lower. I don't think Pardew handles pressure well. The way I see it it will be something like:

    1 Citeh
    2 Loserpool/Man U
    3 Loserpool/Spurs/Arse/Man U
    4 LoserpoolSpurs/Arse/Chavs/Newc/Man U
    5 Spurs/Chavs/Man U/Newc
    6 Spurs/Chavs/AnOther/Newc
    7 Chavs/AnOther
    8 Chavs/AnOther

Hope I'm wrong and we win the ****ing thing but I doubt it. Surprise us Mr Levy with a Klinsmanesque striker.

Ha it's so funny listening to everyone slate him for predicting Newcastle to finish 4th, whilst we have little chance I'd say realistically we have as much chance as Tottenham and Liverpool and perhaps even Arsenal now RVP has left. As far as him not liking the southern clubs try listening to soccer saturday pundits talk about Newcastle they never even mention them in any of their predictions.

Cabaye and Cisse carried us? stf does that mean Ben Arfa wasn't bad either and Colo, Krul, Tiote, Ba and Jonas were excellent all season also.

anyways it's hard to say what will unfold but at least he's making a bold prediction?

I think we will challenge for top 6 as we have good players but everyone except Jeff has ruled us out so thanks Jeff

Toon will beat us on Saturday, so maybe Jeff won't seem so mad then. But I don't think we'll finish mid-table - I go 6/7th ATM

You'll do very well to finish in the top 8 with that prick in charge of your club.

AVB, is a very, very arrogant manager who's managerial skills don't fill me with confidence. This guy has mental problems as well, I don't think he is right in the head, he might need to see a therapist which would be a good idea as he seems unable to cope with pressure,he doesn't seem to socialize well with his players and he never admits that he was wrong, which is very sad.

I can't wait for us to get the double over Spurs if he still is in charge by then.

Nigel Adkins, now there is your model person and manager.

Stelling is a presenter not an analyst. His opinion is just as valid or worthless as anybody's with a passing interest for the game. He presented Countdown too but I wouldn't fancy his chances of teaching A Level English...

Fair comments Chirpy, it'll be interesting to see how Stelling's predictions line up against the 'expert analysts' like Lawro, Hansen, etc. Or indeed mug punters like me.

Why are Southampton fans so cocky? I have taken a serious dislike to them recently. Its like going back to the days when their old chairmen said they were as big a club as us. They have some sensible fans but others who just want to WUM. Rather than beating us twice I look forward to Southampton being relegated and Brighton taking their place in the premier league.
