Mr.Hat has been balancing men's balls on his chin for all his Adult life. And he's been heading towards a Man's balls and as soon as he reaches - he will also Die. So I guess it could b true.
Call me a cynic but why now? This has been going for years, strange it happens right on the eve of a crucial game against us. The FA have released a statement and apologised, sorry for her loss but what else is she wanting? I can see what WBA want, creating a bit of emotion and atmosphere for their relegation battle.
Having checked this is almost right. The official weight was originally 13-15 ounces. It was changed in 1937 to 14-16 ounces and remains the same now
Precisely. It's almost like she wants them to say "Yes, our game is a killer. We are responsible for your husband's suffering and death." Then what? As I said earlier, it's a ****ing joke. West Bromwich obviously has it's own version of Neil Hudgell too....
I must admit that when I played in the UK in the sixties and early seventies, leather balls were used over and over and on a wet game day, which was most of them, the ball got soaked and weighed a ton. Heading a ball from a keeper's clearance rattled your teeth and it could be bloody painful.
Here's a link to a story written about a presentation given by a guy in my office on the subject last year: http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424127887324432004578306092029472924
Yes, and millions of people smoke but they don't all die of lung cancer !!!! The point is that all the scientific and medical evidence is out there now showing " there is a risk ". Why are the FA choosing to ignore this ?????
Read the facts on brain trauma and degenerative brain disease. Go on " Justice for Jeff Astle " facebook page and read the links from the national press.
It may be there now, but it wasn't there when Mr Astle was playing, so I repeat - what is it that you want the FA to say? It's ridiculous.
You've just answered your own question with " it may be there now " . Read up on the subject. Look at the links. As I said , it's the same as with the cigarette companies, just because it's football why shouldn't the truth of risks be put out to people . Key is informed choice.
You obviously haven't played with a leather ball. The modern football is a featherweight in comparison.
