I have seen him play dozens of times live over the last 3 years and I can say without a hint of exagerration or risk of contradiction that he is the worst player ever to kick a ball at this level. According to soccerbase, his stats this season are played 6 (including one subbed off and one subbed on) goals 0, assists 0, MOTM 0. The limited daylight available to you must be affecting your judgement mate.
Soccerbase must be baseball stats on the wrong Barton mate. He was credited with the most assists in the PL according to some stats put on here early season! How do you keep those Barton blinkers glued on?
I actually think Barton ids very good player on the ball, never panicks and is a very good passer of the ball. Stangely his dead ball skills are less effective. One of the first names on the sheet for me.
DT has it right - Barton is an imposter as a professional footballer but an absolute professional at being a conceited, overbearing, quarrelsome, twisted, warped individual with a past to match. This particular Dick has no level of skill and does not even have the engine or heart that might compensate as Henry has. There are a few things Mr. Fernandes has done that have annoyed, but none more so than providing this useless miscreant with a 4 year deal on many tens of thousands a week. Get yourself down to Stavanger (Mejkavik) Os and take a look at my beautiful Interceptor and then you'll see something that's class. I don't know the bloke mate, but he seems to be have sorted himself out, so all credit to him for that even if he's still not a Saint, or Buddha, or whatever. But really I just think he's one of our key players, he's making us tick, and he's not been booked many times that I remember, despite him being who he is. With Sandro out til next year, keeping Henry and Barton playing is going to be a must.
