No, you're right and it's something we don't have to do but are doing. It's causing our players to be ineffective; I don't think Mason has ever been a left sided midfielder so lord knows why we are playing him there.

Meyler made half the appearances over that time (25) than Mason did.

Yeah, for us. After that first season his performances started to tail off and we should've gotten rid.

You managers are ruthless aren't you.
Sums up a lot of city fans really. A player who gives his all, loves the area and talks up Hull all the time. Been part of the most successful period of our history. Doesn't complain, isn't putting transfer requests in. Waits his time for a chance and does his best for the team. Left mid, cm, rb a real club man.
Nah let's get rid of the ****.

I refer you back to my 'best ever post'. Personally it's just one of the 13k odd excellent posts I have made. Opinions are like arseholes - we all have one. Some are just incorrect more times than others. I'd quit whilst you're behind.

Assuming we stick with our current formation today, I think Henriksen should play on the left of the front three. I think that was where he played against Newcastle and he impressed me for the first time there. I'd also replace Mason with Huddlestone, he also played well against Newcastle I thought and I was a bit disappointed that he didn't start against Middlesbrough.

If you'd meant to use number of apareances as a yardstick then you should have, instead you used length of time. And Meyler did it for longer.

    Denial is an awful thing.

If you honestly think he's good enough to be a Premier League footballer, then you're kidding yourself.

No no, that, right there, sums up everything that our fans do and have done for years. We idolise mediocrity and it's an indictment of our working class heritage. We've come to love the underdog that throws himself around and runs in circles for 90 minutes. If he runs around and tries really hard, he's some sort of icon. We need players who are good enough to play at this level, not ones who try to be but clearly aren't. At the top level, you need this magical thing called ability; having passion wins fans over, it doesn't win football matches by itself. You have to be good enough and Meyler isn't. I don't care if he's got black and amber balls, he isn't consistent enough at this level and we need players that are. Granted, we don't have enough of them, but come January hopefully that will get sorted out.

If you think he isn't a Premier League footballer, then I need to start taking everything you say with a pinch of salt rather than most of it.

I would stop commenting on Meyler as you are really showing yourself up, particularly when you are trying to imply Mason is a better footballer <laugh>

Hang on, wait a second. Are you suggesting that Meyler is a better footballer than Ryan Mason? Let's not get silly now...

So presumably Alex Bruce will be waltzing back into the side when fully fit? Clearly good enough as he throws himself around and loves the club.

Don't be a mug. If you honestly think, in your heart of hearts that David Meyler is a better footballer than Ryan Mason, then you need sectioning.

And if it isn't true, are you suggesting you don't need quality to be a Premier League footballer and than Meyler is in fact consistently a good performer at this level?
