has become a journeyman already - risky.

If v v cheap and a SQUAD player only.... could he make it with the right motivation?

Not saying yes, just rationalising a talent at some point in his career

He has undoubted ability; it's just whether he can change his work ethic from being non existent to helping the team. Steve Cotterill didn't renew his contract because he won't fit into their style of play in the championship, which begs the question, will he fit into ours?

He's the second "big" forward we've been linked to, probably as we've lost OBZ. If he has the right attitude to work hard, then yes, sign him. If not, no thanks.

I'd rather we put a bid in for Jermaine Beckford. He's been prolific for Preston, has got that QPR flair and could bag a hatful for us in the Championship.

thought JET was older than 24. If he signs, let's see how he plays for QPR before making negative judgements on him.

Ive seen him at Aston gate a couple of times this year, he has an eye for goal but is lazy and loses possession far to easliy. A liability in my book as not good enough to be a luxury player

"released' could mean a number of things - they didn't want him, didn't want him for the cash he wanted, or they didn't want to waste their time offering him a contract because they knew he already had options lined up. So it's not 'obvious' they have decided he's not up to the Championship. That may be the case but not nailed on.

Described as a 'fans favourite' by the local Bristol press.

    Thomas....

Reminds me of this famous old commentary by Brian Moore - when I was only a mere slip of a lad! <laugh>

    Friday 26 May 1989 - 9:51pm

"A good ball by Dixon, finding Smith, for Thomas, charging through the midfield. Thomas, it's up for grabs now!"

No nowhere near spot on. Jay Bothroyd was gifted with a talent which if hed put in the effort would have seen him have a career at the top of the game. He was superb for us at Cardiff though at times frustrating but still too good for The Championship. He probably should have stayed with us as we are the only club he really showed the talent he had.

Now we were also unfortunate to have JET. Huge gulf in ability between the two. Useless. I cant believe theres any mileage in this story. Its not just attitude. He isnt good enough.

Jay Bothroyd should have had more England caps. JET wouldnt get in the Faroe Islands side.

A bit over the top but not far off. JET was not the city managers plan very early on. Fans love him because he scored against rovers

We are currently short of a useless player with a fake double barrelled surname. It's a club tradition dating back 4 years.

The amount of 'armchair experts' on here is staggering, give the guy a chance ffs you never know he might actually have the reverse effect of the QPR 'Midas touch'. Looks big and strong, mobile and a nice left foot on him. Poor guy give him a break. Who were you expecting?.....Ronaldo, Messi, etc... <doh>
