Very harsh I think. We're going to lose a lot of players this summer and need to sign a lot.

Not every signing is going to be a stand out banker 1st team starter.

As a versatile squad player, capable of making an impact off the bench I think it's a sensible signing and free's budget up for more crucial signings

This.

The negativity from some people to a signing of a young player with bags of potential is quite astounding. We've bought over-priced, over-hyped **** for years. All three signings so far have something to prove, will see us as a step up and will be on a realistic wage.
Watford i think the problem is, that we have gone from buying old names on big wages to lower league players on low wages. There is no in-between. So far all 3 signings have been League One players. Chances are we will lose Charlie/Phillips/Fer and we need players with more experience. I will support these players but remember we are taking a risk with Ramsey and now we are taking a risk on players. I hope it all works out because i don't want to be back here in 12 months saying 'i told you so"

I can sort of see where you're coming from but there's a chronic lack of youth in the squad which they're clearly trying to address. These are all highly rated players from clubs at the top of League 1 last season. They're exactly the sort of signings we used to pride ourselves on making- players we can develop and profit from. For me, that's better than signing a guy who looks ok in most Championship teams.

So we sign a player that Bristol City deem not good enough for the Championship, this bodes well! I wait with bated breath to be proved wrong.

Although we signed Karl Henry from Wolves when they were in League 1 and played him in the Championship & Premier League where he performed his DCM role adequately.

It all comes down to what the management are trying to do.

They must have a good idea of how they want the team to play and are looking for players to fill those rolls. It's all about the mix.

I think that they want to build a solid team, not build a team around a couple of stand-out players.

It will be interesting to see what CR can get out of JET. It crossed my mind that maybe a black manager could get more out of him - and there are precious few of those around.

I'm not tying to be provocative Eamon but I'm not sure I understand why black players would respond better to a black manager.

Interesting signing. Will be a good squad player who needs to prove he can make it back up the leagues. Should do good in the championship if he puts in the work rate (that's where the coaching will be so important from CR).
Agree with Eamon, we have to find a balance of up and coming youth and experienced quality first teasers. We do still need the likes of Fer and Phillips as well as a quality replacement for Charlie; and we are desperate for some quality CB's. If we don't have a solid defensive back four it will be another difficult season

Not for me. Seen him a few times this year at the gate. He will score the odd great goal but if you get 20 mins a game from him your lucky. I don't profess to be itk but I have some friends well connected there and it is rumoured he wasn't offered a contract as city could not afford him as Ipswich were paying part of his wages whilst he was there. He wouldn't drop his wages so city said no thanks.
Proper test for CR then. If he's a good player who doesn't apply himself, CR needs to work on his application. We'll see.
Mmm? We give away Adel to a team playing CL, but recruit a Bristol City reject, and pay for youngsters from Swindon. Probably symptomatic of owners losing money fast.
They've been losing money, vast amounts of it, on QPR since 2011. They've just decided not to throw any more away on a strategy which failed and would have bankrupted them and the club had they not been so loaded in the first place.

Be patient.

I just hope that they are not throwing away less money on a different which will fail also.

Hope he is more Ray Jones than Rob Hulse. Big striker, versatile, decent in the air, young......worth a punt I say.

Rob Hulse-blast from the past, that. Chris is a man with a plan.

Isn't that what we wanted? Young, hungry players with potential?

If he's as good a coach as people(very many in the game) say, then lets see what happens.

Whatever it is, its gonna be better than Redknapp's.

The Swindon players were/are top players from a team that almost got promoted.
JET has still got a good strike recofrom limited starts and from coming off the bench...Go to the Bristol forums, that are sad to see him go. That says a lot.

I can remember saying all of this about Charlie Austin...is he really good enough to spearhead a promotion team? Can he score in the Premiership?
Answer was yes

So some of these players will step up, a few may not...
We have to be patient as Stan says.

I am not looking to come straight up.
I am looking for strong stability this season and building towards a youngish team that will take us up and keep us there.

Not quite sure why people are complaining, Les stated they wanted to go back to bringing players through from lower leagues\teams not from above, some will succeed some will fail that's the process.

I wish him all the best and hope he is a success, he definitely does have potential and if CR thinks he can develop him, I say welcome on board.

No, they're not. Will Charlie be a QPR reject? Was Remy? Were the pair from Swindon? This would mean the club is willingly letting the player go.

The only time this could 'mostly' be the case is players from the likes of Real Madrid where the club will always be bigger than it's players.

Fair comment.:emoticon-0148-yes:

Welcome to the club JET look like decent player from the youtube vids. The transfer window is much better without Arry shouting off his mouth before players have even signed well done CR and co.

You must log in or register to see media

Looking forward to seeing him in the hoops. Low risk-High Potential, hoping he turns into one of those players that you look forward to seeing on the team sheet. A good squad player at worst
