Listen you can be sure there is still no great love affair going on here between The Don and Punch to a degree it was stale mate and it now suits both parties for him to be in the side and its a marraige of convenience no one would pay what we wanted for him and we are paying good wages to a decent player to sit on his arse.Fair play to Punch looks like he has knuckled down he had to really once no one came in for him and for the club its strengthened our options to have him on board at a time when we needed fresh players when it was probably difficult to sign new blood in Jan . As far as i am concerned if he acts like a pro and earns his dough from here on in and helps the team i am with him but i still would not be surprised if he moved on sooner rather than later

The man himself (NC) said at the dinner that Punch was off his radar and then the twitter comments put him back on his radar. The meeting was a disciplinary and that was when things were sorted. NC's view was that Punch seems to perform best when he's bouncing back from something and so hopefully he'll do the business.... looking ok so far.
 
Still very early days, but I'm pleased that I'm on course to be able to say "I told you so" to all his critics. Of those who spoke up about him 12 - 16 months ago back on 606, I'd say about 90% were against him, for no valid reason at all. Everyone expected us to take the league by storm, and yet we were playing poorly, and dropping points against teams that you'd never imagine we'd be dropping points to. And it's Puncheon they turned on, despite the fact that he'd been named in the divisional team of the season just months earlier.

I've always thought he's a player with bags of ability, and his current form doesn't surprise me in the slighest. Great to have him back.
 
I echo comments made above, really good to have him back in the fold. He is a class player.
 
He's looking as good as when he first signed for us. If he keeps this up and keeps the boo boys away we have a very good player.

Thankfully the very lovely Mrs Godders is prepared to forgive me for all the mistakes I make even at my time of life.

Last night it was hot horlicks AND a chocolate biscuit so clearly I have been forgiven for telling her that she was embarrassing me in the pub on Saturday.

It took her over 24 hours to do so mind you and it was a very lonely 24 hours with the love of my life refusing to speak to me!

Mind you next time I err I am sure she will catalogue all my previous misdemeanours.

She's a woman and that is what they do!

After watching the last few games I didn't realise quite how good JP is! He seems comfortable anywhere on the pitch swaping flanks with Lallana or in the middle behind the strikers but would love him to attack the wings more beating his man and whipping in a cross for Lambert or sharp! :D

but it was the first time this season that he has played his role which is an attacking midfielder. working hard is one thing but on saturday he also added a goal threat which is what we really need

I'm still doing a few stupid things in my 50s, but I see your point. The ****-ups I made in my 20s would fill a very large volume.
