Jackett on Puncheon: "He's not currently someone we will break the bank to sign."

This to me is truly baffling, we're not willing to spend 1 million on a player who scored 5 goals in 7 for us, then went on to prove himself as a valuable player in a premiership outfit. I'm behind Kenny 100% but this is a decision I completely disagree with.

Do you reckon he's worth the money?

i would not pay 1m for him, its not his valuation its his chairman being a greedy bastard.
they clearly dont want him they should be glad to get anything for him <ok>

Exactly, because of their greed I don't think he will be sold to any club and end of his contract he will go on free.

didnt Blackpool offer 300k and now moneybags QPR have even pulled the plug,,let the Saints pay his wages for the next year and then he walks for free....greedy bastard.

Defo rather we got Townsend than puncheon but It looks like we wont be getting either of them for now. KJ doesn't value Puncheon at 1m so thats good enough for me. You have to consider wages as well.

I read somewhere that because QPR pulled out of the bidding Punch may be allowed to go for 750k. And the attitude problem certainly wasn't present whilst he was playing for us or Blackpool. More than likely just Southampton, we know how much of **** their chairman is. At 750k to a million he must be the cheapest premiership worthy player; bargain.

As for the wages, if he came to us I'm sure he'd be on the same as he was or more than Southampton. He's been with us before so obviously we can agree on that. Even if we were paying less than Southampton I'm sure he realises it's a small price to pay when you're somewhere you'll enjoy and get first team football.

Imagine KJ would be more interested at 750k but even so that's still more than double what the tool Don Corleone wanted for him when we had him on loan as he was valued at about 300k/400k depending what report you read. <ok>

What might be possible is we get him on loan again for the season and then pay 500k for him at the end of the loan period. that way with the wages they save added to the 500k they get their 1mil we have him for the season and everybody is happy <ok>

That's sounds like a good compromise <ok>

So unfortunately the Saints Chairman will say no <doh>

nothing to do with our chairman he will support KJ regardless <ok>

its KJ whos tight <laugh>

No way £1M but it is baffling that our squad is very light of quality players beyond the starting 11. Need to get someone in as looking at the Nottingham game, they have several strikers competing and we have injuries noted and this is only the start of the season. Townsend and Puncheon and we could seriously challenge for top 6 otherwise no chance in reality as strength in depth is something we are seriously missing.
