Its more than I have seen from herrera. I have only seen Herrera play a 3 or 4 times and he hasn't overly impressed me. He wasn't ****, just not stand out. I think its madness to judge at all to be honest until Herrera gets a little longer in the PL, I mean how many games has he played for you now? 3?
Herrera is a much better player, his passing is better and he scores. Henderson is Liverpool quality only, not good enough for a starting place with the big boys!!!
Come on, no ones as bad as Matth. Just dont think Herrera has played enough to judge his ability properly yet.
It's all opinions except one simple fact......If Henderson played for United, Matth would think he's the next Zidane.
Did you not see the game in Spain where Herrera literally had Xavi and Innesta crying because they were being so outclassed. UIR can tell you all about it
More like the voice of placation Surely me stating that it is too early to judge Herrera against Henderson after 3 games is reasonable?
FFS Matth. He performed ok in about 3 games against average opposition and suddenly he's a 'bargain'?
I won't comment on Henderson except to say he was one of your main driving forces last season. He set a high standard for himself last season, I do question (as I do with Sturridge) whether he can match that this season without Suarez. But I wouldn't be surprised if he did. All I wanted to say about Herrera to put it into perspective how much I rate the kid, is right now I can't decide who I want back in the team sooner, Herrera or Rooney. And right now I edging towards Herrera. So much energy, he can play anywhere through the middle (or even wide), and he builds most of our attacks. I wouldn't use the word midfielder, he is simply an very good, intelligent footballer. Not sure many follow La Liga outside the top 2 or 3, but I have a particular affinity for Bilbao bcos of the ethos of the club and the players who play for them - they really are a rare breed compared to all other top 4 footballing clubs in the major leagues. Herrera was pivotal in their success last season, helping them get CL football. He has shown the same drive and creativity in the few games he's played for us. Mark my words (and I don't say this lightly) he will be the natural successor to Iniesta in the Spanish side.
I have been trying to tell them. My interest peaked when he made us look silly. I also find la liga outside the big 2 (other madrid dont count, trust me, they will be relegated soon, its the other madrid way ) much more exciting. Bilbao have been great to watch and great all round for a while now. But yeh, a quick heads up. People who have no idea what they are taliing about will soon dismiss whar you say based on nothing. They will make wild unsubstantiated claims that someone else is better. They will claim this mist be fact because of the spanish team (the same nation who doesnt pick one of the worlds best keepers over an utter joke of a keeper) as if it means something (theyre not smart enough to realise their own spanish midfielder is only a reserve for his country and was actively pushed out of the last club he played for for being inferior). You have been warned. I find laughing at them eases the annoyance.
Yes I can imagine UIR, but I'm not bothered, only stating what I know from what I've seen of the player over the last 2/3 seasons. I would only respond to a poster like Luv bcos he may still disagree, but it would be an honest opinion on his part...not like said ppl you're perhaps talking about. And I know the other midfielder you're talking about. Great player also, but what sets Herrera apart is he can dribble...hence why my comment about Iniesta's successor. Not saying he's on his level, but in terms of style and impact from midfield, he emulates him.
