By all accounts he was turned down by Villa and Cardiff...Bravo to City, for taking a punt...Worked out nicely for him and us, and West Ham..Good luck to the kid.

I have just seen the news this morning. I didn’t even know West Ham were in the final.

Delighted for Bowen, he deserves all the success he earns.

Isn’t the conference league regarded as a glorified friendly/reserve competition though? I thought everyone hated the concept.
No

I don't why City fans are so passionate about us being acknowledged my commentators/national media for his success. There's a weird insecurity and tinpot obsession by certain sections of our supporters regarding former players.

Intertoto isn’t it?…

When Deano scored that goal against Br City the commentator should really have listed all 9 clubs he'd played for since the start of his career. Very remiss...

I wonder if Southampton fans take some credit for Mane and Van Dijk winning a Premier League title and Champions League.

I don't think it's 'insecurity' or 'tinpot obsession'. The fact is that we've won next to **** all ever, we aren't a big club, so it's nice to see players like Bowen who's careers City helped shape go on and do well.
Similar with Harry and Robertson although I'd guess that for obvious reasons most will get more satisfaction / pleasure seeing Bowen do well with West Ham than from Harry and Robertson as they ended up with Man U and Liverpool.
Seems natural & understandable to me, at least until we establish ourselves as a big club :emoticon-0105-wink:.
