No hes not especially if Oscar is "World class"

Januzaj is very average right now, and Oscar is not World class imo.
To be world class you have to be able to play more than 20 games in a season before you are blowing out your ass, and Oscar seems to have trouble with this.

When he is on top form and not sitting around huffing like a demented monkey with a banana taped to the back of his head, he can be magic......but needs to be more consistent.

Januzaj, he is still young, and like most promising youngsters, you can see the potential is there, but he is at the stage where he could potentially be another Ronaldo, or another Downing....so time will tell.

Seems strange that if he is only an "average" player, how come 5 national teams were after him for internationals? secondly, United got him to sign a new deal, as several other top clubs were trying to lure him away from Old Trafford.

Bit of sour grapes involved, especially with the British clubs who were either after signing him, or could't afford him

No offence but anyone who thinks Januzaj is average doesn't have a clue.

Its not so much that he is average per se, guess thats the wrong wording.
He is just too raw, reminds me of how Ronaldo was in his first couple of seasons with United.
You can see the possibility for something special is there, but its not quite ripened yet and feels a little off.
Of course this doesnt mean he will blossom into another Ronaldo, Im not making that assertion, just that it feels similar to when you first got him.

There have been many young players who have had this aura around them, some became world beaters, and some became meat beaters.

Those who had this aura and made it: Robben, Bale, Ronaldo, Giggs, Beckham
Those who had this aura and became douche bags or just meh: Kieron Dyer, Stuart Downing, James Milner

Jury is still out on Sterling, but the signs are good.

He's nothing like Ronaldo in style, ability, potential, progress etc. Lazy way to assess a young player.

No one said he is like Ronaldo in style or ability, and he hasnt progressed yet, so he cannot be like Ronaldo in progression.
In potential he is, in that he has potential, and so did Ronaldo.

Also,
Kudos for coming out of nowhere in the last 2 weeks just to pop up and be a twat on everyones boards. Some good trolling there <ok>

You're a sensitive little soul!

You're obviously very intuitive too.
The old forum habit of reading a post, self attributing an emotion to it and using it in a witty repartee. Never gets old.
Perhaps next you will want to tell me how angry I am.........<laugh>

I'd say world class is a player that wouldn't look out of place in any team in the world. Oscar wouldn't get a game at Barca, Real or Bayern. Not convinced he'd play at Man city either.

Calm down! :bandit:

<laugh>

You assume of course, that I am calmed up......and have fallen into the same trap as Madinat. <laugh>
Ok I am out of psychologist mode now......
Oscar is only 22, and is a very good player, in bursts.
I will give him another 2 years before I properly judge him, as I believe by 24, a player should have enough of a blend of youth and experience to be able to stake his claim for whatever category he will end up in.

Right now Oscar is too inconsistent, and his fitness levels are suspect, which leads me to believe that the talent is there, but not necessarily the drive and committment to be in the top tier of players. If thats the case he wont last long around Jose.

In two years, Brazil could have a very good offensive midfield with Oscar, Willian, Coutinho, etc all reaching the age of expectancy.

Why on earth do we have to have the next Messi, Beckham, Ronaldo etc etc????

Whoever the player is, let him progress as himself. If hes's good enough, he will prove himself without the stupid tag of the next famous name who comes to mind

Or as is more likely. they could all be massively **** like the rest of the Brazil side. Neymar especially is a bag of ****.
