Yeah I think when you've had that many years of Mike, any signings was going to feel weird. CL players being targeted and buying in is a bit crazy. I honestly thought all that was pie in the sky. I was telling all my mates to be sensible. As you say we will see how the rest of the window goes. However even I'm having to concede things are brighter than we could have hoped for. Sign say 4 or 5 including Trippier and I think we'll have given ourselves a chance. Sign 3 or 4 more of Trippiers level, and I'd feel quietly confident we can get out. We still have a huge challenge ahead of us regardless who signs.
Did anyone see Hayden's interview almost bitching and crying about new signings coming in? Making out we can't just dump people into the development squad etc.
The fact he admitted that the thinking in the squad has been like this shows why we are where we are, anyone with that attitude needs contract paid up and dumped into the saudi league

I bet the likes of Max and Wilson can't wait to play with proper players whereas Hayden knows he won't get another Premiership side.
