I get what you are saying but I think you are selling the club short there. We are not dominating the market. We could have if we wanted to and offered stupid fees and stupid wages. However, we are having bids turned down and we are having players reject us. Instead of being stupid they have worked very hard to sell the project and sell the dream. They have offered generous but sensible fees and wages and have taken a sensible mix of short term need against long term goals and well-being. I think they have done far better than any of us could have hoped or dreamed. They could have said '**** it' and given Man Utd what they wanted for Lingard, or met the inflated asking prices for Botman and Carlos but they didn't. That will stand us in good stead in the future.
Very much agree, they've avoid the "glamour signings" like Dembele, Ramsey and Aubamayang who would come in on huge wages and not give a **** and likely see us relegated. These signings seem like top level players, but also players who actually want to be here and understand the challenge ahead.
Where? He was improving a lot after a terrible start, and was worth retaining for back up. On that note, I hope Murphy stays until the summer.
It's about squad players and injuries innit. Murphy can be an effective impact sub and Lewis is worth retaining as back up. After Wilson got injured we were in the **** for goals.
