Being linked with Dan Ashworth from Brighton as a transfer guru. Is their record really that good? Just Potter seems to be doing really well despite the players
The papers are just linking us with anyone who has played in this country. Some truth will be in there. Latest include Martial, Dzeko. They join the likes of Trippier, Ramsay etc. Either they are making it up or we have made it known this is the plan. At least ages probably aren’t an issue anymore.
Because he was Arsenal I never paid much attention to Ramsay, but keep seeing him linked - I can google this but wasn’t he Mr Injury-Prone? none of our starters should feel safe, if it was possible I’d want 11 new players pulling the shirt on and completely changing our fortunes from mid-Jan…. I know that’s fantasy-land; 5-6 new starting faces must be the kind of nuclear bump we need in order to turn things around though One striker One creator One solid MF ‘enforcer’ to take games by the scruff Centre back, (or pair of) I think Joelinton holds a place on recent form but everyone else needs a rest/reset/a move the PIF change has made 2021/22 exciting - Ashley left them with a run-down club and there’s been very little that could meaningfully change on the pitch until the window arrives…. Get that chequebook out
Nah, keep playing our games now then when they have to cram the games in later in the season we'll have more rest days and can smash our miracle climb to 17th
Think I said earlier there isn’t a single position not in need of an upgrade, there’s just some are more pressing, central midfield and defence. But there needs to be players in by the 2nd of Jan if we’re to survive. We need people like Clark, Ritchie, Hayden, Longstaff, Gayle gone and replaced with proper PL players.
Bruce is a poor manager, but it’s pretty clear nobody would succeed with this squad, it’s a relegation squad right now. Going to be a big test of owners in Jan, and I mean literally first week. Desperately need a centre back, central midfielder and left back instantly. The rest then just need upgrading over time.
They'll just say no to us. I have to say we're still somehow only 3 points adrift, so if we can manage to keep it there come January it's looking better than I anticipated going into this run. I mean really that's down to Watford and Burnley not playing but games in hand at the bottom are not ideal.
i hope there’s a warehouse set up like a call-centre and some very busy people making a LOT of calls to clubs and agents - right now
Not sure I really get this. In terms of the 11 positions on the pitch, a 31 year old right back isn't even close to being a priority.
Depends on how we look at it. If the rumours are true about an "anyone but Newcastle" transfer policy by PL clubs it means we get an experienced top quality England international through the door early doors. If we were to get Ramsay as well it then allows us to use these 2 in other transfer negotiations. A way of saying "Look, we're serious here, we've just signed Trippier and Ramsay". If they can then nail a Kamara type signing shortly after, It's then "Look we have signed these 3 top quality players" to other, perhaps more ambitious targets.
