I think we will have to accept that this is just how it is now when we go looking for players. We offer £x and the selling club say nah, actually we value the player at £5m or £10m more.....quite how we got Trippier for £12m is a mystery like but hey ho !

We need to have more than one target for each position we are looking to recruit for so that we make an offer, if that's turned down we move on. I do agree tho that for the sake of £5m which is nothing more than pocket change that we just offer what they want for him. If he's as good as everyone is saying he is then it's a no brainer.

I'd rather we set our stall out and show clubs that we aren't gonna be held to ransom just cos we're ****ing loaded....that doesn't mean that every player is instantly worth £50m just cos we're interested. Have we managed to work out how much we need to pay Everton yet to take Longstaff off our hands just whilst I'm on.....and can we do the same with Shelvey and Fraser please?
