Richie Wellens joins on an 18 month contract - despite his age now he has remains a good player We have missed Woods terribly and perhaps he can play that role and take over as captain. Also hope the Craig Davies rumours are true.
The montage footage of Wellens looks like he's got pinpoint accuracy on the passing front, something we've missed. Let's hope he doesn't often get yellow carded.
Apparently Kaikai may be returning - he is inconsistent but on a good day he can win a game for us. If MM does not sign a proven striker soon I think we are doomed. You must hand it to the guy - to ship out your two leading scorers when we are in the position we are in is certainly bold (or perhaps foolhardy?). All the Cobblers fans I know are amazed we let Collins go to them.
Wallace returns on loan from Sheffield united - looks a decent replacement for the injured Ogogo to give us some legs in midfield. McKnight released - no surprise there. I just knew Collins would score tonight. I make it just one loan left - still think we need a centre forward as well as Kaikai.
Seems like Wallace has had a string of injuries and hopefully we're on the right side of him having some game time ahead of him. A perm signing in the form of a striker or winger would be good.
Wallace is quoted as saying that he has been injury free for four or five months now. So hopefully we will get the full benefit of that. All seems to have gone quiet on new additions, such as this winger coming in. We have until lunch today to register them so thst the can play tomorrow.
Interesting to see if both Wallace and Wellens start tomorrow - would be harsh on Clark if he was left out.
Apparently MM believes the squad we have now is good enough to keep us up. So we have a strike force of the injury prone Mangan (though at least we know he can score goals) and three others who have a total of about three goals between them this season. We are probably about to pay out Championship wageson two centrebacks whose lack of pace has been exposed over and over. We also have a midfield with little running power or defensive nous (hopefully Wallace and Wellens will provide that. If RW has pulled the plug on spending I do not blame him as so much money has been wasted this season already. I think we are going down but worry we will not be in apposition to recover and bounce back from this calamitous season anytime soon.
Yes it appears MM is happy with the squad, which means the mystery winger we all know has winged his way elsewhere or is staying put. We also haven't signed Gerrard, so does that mean Grandison is now fitter or considered better now? Perhaps MM hasn't really finished his dealings and we might have one more coming in over the next week. Should that be a defender, striker or wide player?
Who is the big striker MM talked about yesterday - presumably Grant Holt, possibly Craig Davies (with us a youth player) and , improbably, Tom Eaves.

It looks like Kaikai is possibly happening but is he talking about another player in terms of a striker also coming? This obviously refers to Kaikai: “I’d like to bring back a special winger if I had a chance – who we all know about – and I’ll fight very hard when the opportunity comes up to do that," But sounds like it's a remote possibility, whereas this: “People might be off track talking about him (Kaikai), because there’s a certain big striker who’s getting mentioned who fans would do somersaults down the streets if we got him back." Means someone else who we would know and obviously is being talked about somewhere.
