Just a thought. Could Babel coming here be linked to Fabri going back to Besiktas ? Pretty open secret that Fabri is not happy at being 3rd choice.
Well, we bought Fabri on a 3 year deal for, allegedly, £5m from Besiktas. Perhaps they can't afford or don't want to pay to take him back and there is some sort of trade-off with Babel. Whose 6 month loan is said to be going to cost us a fee of £2m. Agree much of it doesn't make footballing sense.
We also currently have our allocated 2 loanee's and it sounds like Man U are't willing to have FM back early.
That's our 'home grown' loanees, 2whites. There's a different rule for those from 'abroad' and think Babel falls into that category. It is a concern the United are playing hard ball with Fosu-Mensah though. Not only does it mean he's blocking the bringing in of an alternative but he's hardly going to be happy and give his all for the team.
Ah the "old foreign policy"ploy eh, I should have known better. Unless he has morphed into Alan Shearer (albeit Alan's a tad younger I think) I'm not convinced. I recall he had pace but now more likely to be a pace maker.
Trouble at t'Mill. Allegedly, Kamara and Johansen had a bust up an both banished ... from Motspur Park anyway. Ream had a shouting match with Ranieri. Ayite wants away and Bordeaux very interested.
It sounds like the pressure pot could have just burst, so we sink or swim from here. Hopefully it clears the air and we can pull together, if not more newbee's will just add fuel to the flames.
Ryan Babel has joined us ....................... http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2019/january/15/ryan-babel-career-so-far Hopefully I'm proved wrong, very wrong.
From what I read its on a permanent deal, but only a 6 month contract. Basically that says if we stay up he might stay and if we go down then hes off.
Okay, thanks Fab. Was just wondering about Ryan Sessegnon's situation. Ranieri from comments, subs and so on, doesn't seem to rate him. Could be costing the Club a lotta money.
This is so wrong. Have the utmost respect for the work of Huw Jennings and Steve Wigley in the development of our Academy players. Their policy has been to bring them in young and move them through the age groups quickly, if they are good enough and ready. You only have to look at the ages of players in the current U18 and U23 sides. However, once they reach the U23s it all seems to stop. I'll take Slavisa out of that line of criticism. The potential Matt has is huge. Rather than repeat my own assessment of his qualities, I'll leave you with a quote made very recently by a Dortmund scout -
We've done this far too often with too many promising young players, but they seem to go onto big clubs then disappear. Anyone remember Denis Adeniran going to Everton, where is he in their team? Hyndman to Bournemouth, Roberts to City and many more.
And now Sky Sports are saying that Stevie Humphrys is off to Southend on a permanent. He's not been included in today's U23 squad. Okay there was some sort of a problem with Scunthorpe and came back early from his loan and his contract is up in the summer but, if this is true, he must have really upset someone at the Club. Absolutely is another one that should not be allowed to happen.
