I don't know how true this is but someone who knows him said that he wants to be able to buy a house for his dad, so he can stop having to work on building sites. To do this he will need to earn a decent wage and at the moment he is one of the lower earners at the club. A reasonable ambition to be fair. The last I heard is that Catlin will start new negotiations with him shortly.
Also Catlin says we are near to finalising a deal for another player (no names though).
Ben Chorley. Another defender!?
Another 30+ years old player? (He's 31).
Currently under contract at Stevenage?
Nooooo thank youuu.
I think either a younger player or a striker who can actually score is more of a priority. Besides, we have so many defenders already.
EDIT: Wouldn't mind a non-league young striker, like Joe Lolley who just joined Huddersfield, to come in to the club- it's worth a shot. We brought in Jed from non-league and that's worked out well, so why not try and repeat the trick?

I read somewhere earlier that Barker said Ben Chorley will bring some much needed "controlled aggression" into the team - he isn't available for the next match, due to serving a 3 match ban for "violent conduct"![]()

What, Johnny Ertl lose the captaincy ?
Nicky Shorey would be a good shout for that job - impressed me Saturday with his "bossing" of other players, looks like a born leader to me.
