Wouldn't it be great if January revealed NUFC's true plan from a barren summer?
Keep the powder dry, line up a few deals under the radar and bring them in to galvanise the squad mid-campaign.
The strategy would help us out of a hole if the team were struggling OR help them kick on if they are doing ok (as it has transpired).
I just think it's a real crying shame that when the gamble comes off for these owners it seems very doubtful they show some ambition and give it a go.
We're not talking spending big money, but bolstering numbers to give the squad a lift and really go for it.
I know as well as anyone that Ashley has no footballing ambition for the club whatsoever, but almost being in the position we find ourselves in makes it worse.
Just show that little bit of positivity and fun for the project and we could take full advantage of a very open league season.
We expect nothing in the hope we are pleasantly surprised!
