I think POwell is one of the most gifted players the nation has ever seen. Id be reserved about getting him hough as he is still very young and we would have no chance at all of signing in permantently and im not sure how much he would improve us in return for us developing him.
Ian Stringer ‏@StringerSport Talk of Nick Powell on loan from Man Utd to #lcfc nothing concrete. Rarely get much warning of a #mufc signing but Pearson likes Utd loanees Would be a superb signing.
Dont get me wrong i rate Powell alot but is he reall what we need? We need someone who is going to put their foot on the ball and scrap for it. We have Knockaert and Marshall already in the role Powell would play. I would much prefer someone in the mould of Liam Trotter then another flair player
Agree Proud. But it's not conceding goals that's our problem. Plus Powell isn't shy to get stuck in. He's probably a better Andy King, the next Frank Lampard, that sort of player.
Powell is one of the best prospects the country has ever seen, but he is only about 17, not sure what we would get out of developing him given his current ability
This sort of supports the intention of my Existing Squad and New Additions thread - We always seem to think someone who doesn't play for us is better than what we already have - It's time to accept that our squad is already very good and just needs coaching and tinkering - That way we can improve through consistency
I'd love to get him but only because I think he will be an excellent player someday and will be able to say such a player played for Leicester. I think he probably is better than many at our club, but obviously doesn't have the experience. I'd be excited to see him play but concede that he maybe isn't the right player for us at this moment in time. Of course, it's just a rumour anyway, I consider it highly unlikely with Lingard already here a similar type of player- Manchester United are hardly going to want to loan us another youngster that we won't play.
Lingard wont be here soon unless we either buy him or extend the loan. From what I have seen of him so far I would prefer Gallagher
I though him and Keane were staying until the end of the season? I may be wrong though. He is the best passer of the ball in the squad, just looks a little lost. When he learns what position to play i think he could start if he lasts the season with us
I think their loans are due to expire in January, and at this point in time the only way either will be here by the end of the season will be in the unlikely situation that we buy them. Not sure if it's fair to compare Lingard with Gallagher, very different players, although I must concede that I haven't seen Lingard play since that short cameo at Forest and therefore cannot really judge him. Keane looks decent from the few games I've seen him play for Man Utd.
Everytime Lingard has come on he has done completely nothing. We all know what Gally is capable of when he is on form. Lingard just looks like a kid in a mans league. I think he would do better going down to League 1 and learning from there
As things stand both Michael Keane and Jesse Lingard return to Man U on Wednesday http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20609566 With Baptiste set to sign by the sounds of things and Gallagher coming back into the squad I find it unlikely we will keeping either unless we buy them. Maybe they are players for the future but at the minute neither look like they can contribute much. Maybe unfair on Keane as he has been injured buy he wont be up to the standards of Morgan or Baptiste
Are we definitely buying Baptise? I know its been widely reported that we are buying him - It's just my gaffer is a Blackpool fan and it will really piss him off if we buy him, so I pray we do
John Percy said we interested about a week ago and SKY said we have had a bid accepted He played yesterday for them though. I think we will find out one way or the other tommorow
If anyone knows any Blackpool fans contact details just put them on here so we can have a bit of a gloat after how they was to us And also Plymouth fans after how they was when Ollie came here
