Villa are rumoured to be in for Dorrans I wouldnt mind him but I would pay more then 1.5M for him Forest have had a bid rejected for George Boyd from Peterborough
Iago Falque has gone out on loan to a foreign side and Craig Dawson is signing for Bolton on loan. (Pushing Matt Mills even further down the pecking order) Both players we have been linked with. Surprising things have been very quiet for us this window. Apart from Chris Wood no one has really moved in or out. Just that Danns changed his loan club
Ian Evatt has just been ruled out for the rest of the season for Blackpool so our chances of signing Alex Baptiste just decreased even further. I think Nigel will now look at just keeping Michael Keane for the season and get Whitbread and St. Ledger fit asap
Wilfried Zaha will sign for Man U in the summer for around 15M From what I have seen he is decent but signing for Man U and the price tag? I don't think he is that good So how much should we want for Anthony Knockaert?
Sorry Proud, just realised I never normally look at this thread! Dorrans played for WBA the other day, why are they looking to sell him? Falque is no great loss, and don't really need Dawson now we have secured Keane for the rest of the season Hadn't heard much on the Baptiste deal for a while, but I guess we don't need him either too, especially with SSL near a return. That is a lot for Zaha, mind you I questioned when they spent a similar amoutn on Valencia, I mean he was good, but not that good at Wigan... And look at him now. Fergie knows how to get the best out of players, his mistakes are few and far between. Remeber Zaha is English, so his price is trebled at least! Knockaert wouldn't fetch that much... Yet Any more news on Schlupp?
Schlupp's trial has been extending for another week. I think deadline day we will find out either way
Apparently Jeffrey is enjoying his time up there under the stewardship of SAF. Have we become a feeder club to Man U?
Sheffield Wednesday have signed Leroy Lita on loan until the end of the season. Its amazing how people keep buying him as he was **** for Middlesbrough, Swansea and Birmingham. Yet people still want him
Probably used the Warren Joyce connection that we have with Man Utd to his advantage when he returned back to you.
It was when we had Tom Cleverley on loan when we were in league one. SAF said he'd never seen a player develop so much in one loan spell and was really impressed.
So the window is now closed, here is what our promotion rivals did in January Cardiff signed Frazier Campbell Crystal Palace signed Alex Nimely, Kevin Phillips, Jacob Butterfield and Ashley Richards all on loan. They sold Wilfried Zaha to Man U for an intial 10M but immediately signed him again on loan Hull signed Fati and Gedo on loan. Re-signed David Stockdale and Ahmed Elmohammady on loan and turned David Meyler and Robbie Brady's loans into permanent transfers Middlesbrough signed Kieron Dyer and released Kevin Thomson Watford turned Fernando Forestieri loan into a permanent deal and they are still working on turning Matej Vydra's loan into a permanent deal. As he is already there for the season on loan they can sign him outside of the transfer window And then of course we signed Chris Wood and extended Michael Keane's loan until the end of the season and Neil Danns signed for Huddersfield on loan and we extended Jermaine Beckford's loan at Huddersfield until the end of the season So only really Palace signed a few players, Hull just turned loan into permanent deals and get some loan players back that had been recalled along with them 2 Egyptians. We was the only team to do anything significant with Chris Wood signing. Middlesbrough and Cardiff's only signing will spend more time on the treatment table then the pitch
You list all those signings, then conclude you're the one that did anything decent, rather than waiting to see what any of those signings do for their respective clubs, Bookmarked.
4 of the players you signed you had before the window opened. Plus you LOANED 2 players. Watford's signing they already had Cardiff and Middlesbrough signings will spend more time on the treatment table And then Palace just LOANED some players We SIGNED Chris Wood Have you caught on yet?
It makes no difference if players are on loan, or are signed on a permanent, it's only what they contribute on the pitch that will determine if they were significant signings, or not. Unless there's a new rule that says loan players goals only count as half goals...
