The problem with Nigel's cheeky smile is you can never tell whether what he is saying is serious or playful <laugh>

I just wish we get something sorted out either way imho all we have got so far in this window is Tadanari Lee (still in Japan not actually signed yet) a lot of rumours about Hooper and Falque on loan if we are to mount a serious bid for promotion then we need to strengthen, other teams around us are getting players in I just hope we don't spend the rest of the window being linked with players and then end up with nothing, although saying that if we can keep the majority of players fit then we should still have a great chance of winning the race to the premier league:emoticon-0107-sweat

I think Falqué could turn out to be a very useful player for us. Seems capable of covering for Lallana or Connolly (players we have missed badly when they've been unavailable), and he's technically as good as anyone else at the club. If he puts a shift in and isn't just a luxury player, he could make a big contribution.

If we have given up on Hooper why is there nothing on the OS about it?

I know this may be a bit of an over reaction but do you think saints offering 25% of shirt printing might mean a signing? Or am i being to optimistic hahah

We won't sign another striker in my opinion.

Looks like my wish for reinforcements at centre back may come true! Looks like a decent signing if true.

Just found this linking him to arsenal in the summer: http://www.footybunker.com/arsenals-next-centre-back-will-be-21-year-old-dane/7673

Good comments from some Danish fans, reckon a fair fee would be around £3.5m-£4m. Sign him up I say!

From what I can gather, he is recovering from a knee operation and won't be fit much before the end of the season. Not sure the link above is a very reliable source though - just another football site and not ITK. Would be happy if it was true though, because he looks like a decent young player.

Looks to be the case yeah, could be back by March at the earliest, but if we can secure an international defender because other clubs have been put off by an injury, could be good news for us longer term.

The Google suggests that he's been pursued by all manner of top European teams...if we get him for 3.5m it's quite a coup even coming off knee surgery. However, he won't be back until next season; does it seem likely that we'd sign a player five months into a nine-month recovery?

Ah, Matias Jorgensen. Was a staple of my Saints team for my first 5 or so years in Premier League in FM10. If football manager is to be believed, he's a great player!

    Injury update 14/09/11

"FC Copenhagen captain Mathias Zanka landed awkwardly after a collision with Peter Madsen in last Sunday’s away tie against Lyngby BK. The defender was quickly substituted and watched the rest of the game from the bench on crutches.

On Monday Zanka went for a scan on his leg, which showed he has sustained ligament damage to his left knee.

    Club doctor Morten Boesen explains:

    - Zanka has sustained a ligament injury that will mean he needs surgery. We will also need to go over the rest of the knee during the operation. On the MRI scan, it appeared that Zanka’s cruciate ligament is intact, but is not functioning properly. We will test it during the operation. Ligament damage alone will see Zanka sidelined for the next few months.

Zanka himself was on hand to speak to FCK.DK:

    - Obviously I am disappointed to have a long period of recovery ahead of me and will miss a lot of exciting games this autumn. Conversely however, I am glad that it is the best-case scenario: that it is ‘only’ ligament damage. I will have surgery on Thursday, where there will be an investigation into how complicated the injury actually is. I am therefore optimistic despite the disappointment."

NA knows his stuff on injuries and the fact that his cruciate is still intact is a good sign. It would be a nice coup to steal him from under the noses of PSV, and as you say, would be one for the future

Ah yeah, good spot DTLW. Says he's still talking to PSV too. At least it's something that we are linked to players of this quality I suppose.

Oh well, I expect we'll see plenty more of these stories over the next 10 days. I thought it sounded too good

    Potential signing for Saints?

please log in to view this image

21-yea-old Danish centre-back who has already represented the national team 5 times, apparently chased by PSV amongst others and is rated highly. A Dutch paper has linked us to him and from the translation it appears a deal could be made soon. Obviously we've been linked in foregin press with many players that haven't ever come to fruition but this one could be genuine.

    What do you guys think?

Here's a link to his wikipedia for the lazy ones and here's the article in question (already translated for you)

Credit for finding the article goes to Matthew Le God.
