Our wingers don't tend to play as conventional wingers, i.e. hugging the touchline and crossing from the byline. They tend to cut inside or look for the overlapping fullback. The winger and the attacking midfiekder we're looking for are probably the same player.
Don't think language is a problem, he is seen chatting to Lee Barnard on the Saints Player Adkins interview, if he can understand an Essex boy it won't be long before he masters Hampshire, oh arr!
De Ridder throughout recent games spends a lot of the time standing on the touchline trying to stretch the opposition defence.
Not a rumour more of a question really With the likely capture of Tadanari Lee do you think this will be the only striker Saints will go for in this transfer window? If we do go for another what type of striker do we need and who do you think it will be? Personally I think we will go for Lukas Jukiwicz. Now I'm not saying he is a better player than the rumoured Maynard, Sharp or Rodrigues etc because he isn't. But I think out of the players we have been linked with he is the only one who would be able to play the Rickie Lambert role as well as be able to play alongside him. Add to this the rumoured price of £1.5/2 million and he would present the best value for money. The way we play relys quite heavily on us having a target man who can hold th ball up, without Rickie we are going to have to modify the way we approach each game. Jukiwicz could be the answer in the short term and he also has the potential to turn into a premiership quality player in the long term. I know this is probably the 100th time this has been asked but I'm bored at work.
I'm attending the Coventry game tomorrow do will report on how good/bad he is. Personally I have never rated him. Will this opinion change by tomorrow evening!?!?
That's great news then!!! his dribbling and ball control looks great! If this signing happens let's hope he causes defences some embarrassing moments
Jutkiewicz will be a good replacement for RL which we don't have at the moment. He would also be allot cheaper than Sharp, Maynard and J Rodrigues aswell
He won't be playing tomorrow as hes injured. Text a Scottish mate of mine who is a Celtic fan about Commons and Driver. I asked him about Hooiveld and he was the only Celtic fan to say that he thought he could be decent, basically said that he had a couple of shockers for Celtic and never played again but had looked good for the reserves so thought he could be good with a run of games. Here is what he had to say about Commons and Driver anyway Commons: "Excellent. When fit and on form would have him in the Scotland XI. Been injured for awhile and rumours that he fell out with Lennon but still be surprised if he leaves." Driver: "Fast, tricky, good deliverer and good finisher. When hes on form there is no better winger in the SPL. Been injured a lot though and hasn't got back to his best since"
