Pretty much any professional playing at a decent standard will have done some good things throughout their career, it isn't hard to make a 2 min long video making them look like messi.
I agree BD , but IF we are looking at him / about to sign , they ( Adkins / scouts ) Must see something , IF we sign him and he is a Flop :-(
Well hopefully they have , but there is also the issue with will he suit the english game or settle in the uk itself. The english game is far different and more physical then any league iv'e seen. He will have to adapt to the different culture too. This is why I would prefer a player that has already played in this league or above.
Having watched on YouTube he looks like a David Silva type of player. Nippy, quick and agile! Could e a useful signing! Just hope he learns English quickly
gree again , somone said earlier we need someone to hit the ground running , he won't IMHO . Hope I'm wrong though .
He wont be joining us, where did this rumour come from anyway. I bet Cortese is sat in his office pissing him self.
although there is a good chance of us not signing him, it seems just as short sighted to completely rule out the transfer based on a whim
It seems slightly odd a random Japanese paper would make this up. There has obviously been some contact.
Well to be honest it is the age of this joke that is more of an issue, I slipped up on the Echo site with a light hearted quip about the Nuke option and rattled a few cages, unfortunately on the same site were a couple of potentially racist jokes that went uncommented upon. I guess it is down to how the reader interprets the intention, you have read my signature I hope, it says it all.
Vaz Te? Come on the lad has had about 6 good games this season, how short-sighted are people? Clearly not good/consistent enough, exactly the type of player we need to avoid. The lad who said the J-League is crap clearly knows **** all about foreign football, it's one of the most exciting leagues in the world and has produced some quality players. Hulk for example broke through there and now has an £84m buyout clause. Their youth system is the second best in the world after Germany, with players staying in school, getting an education whilst focussing on fitness training. Japanese players are extraordinarily fit and in recent years their technical skills have increased hugely as well (Honda, Kagawa, Nakamura, Miyaichi). They will become a footballing power in the future, mark my words. The work ethic is key, hence why England consistently fails. Lee is a good player, not sure he could make the sort of impact in the EPL as Honda did in the Eredivisie or Kagawa in the Bundesliga. He is hard working though and a true poacher, could be what we need. Also the marketing benefits will help the club, it could all be a part of Nicola's vision.
I agree with everything you've said here. You need to post more often. Forgot Hulk broke through in J League to be honest! Would have used him alongside Honda and Kagawa earlier. Honda is class and Kagawa is shaping up to become one of the best players in the world, so two of the so far few J League exports (three if we're counting Hulk... yeah, let's) three of the so far few J League exports have been great in Europe. Let's give our scouts a chance.
I saw Lucas over xmas and I can confirm that although we had an offer on the table with Coventry, Lucas has decided to stay put as he realises he wont be guaranteed first team football here and that is what he is after at the moment. Boro are interested but he would rather move South if anything as he is close to his family in Boyatt Wood. As for this Lee chap i certainly think he would have a strong work ethic on the pitch and clearly knows where the net is. Could be another gem like Jos was. Maynard and Jay are a waste of £6m to be honest as there are better strikers out there in Europe and we would simply be paying a premium because they are British, and we hardly set the world stage a light now do we!!.
