They really should be top of the league quite comfortably by now with all the quality in their squad. The fact that they aren't and have made public their intentions to splash the cash suggests to me that not all is right.

He's been great today, and is a decent player, but he's hardly likely to move clubs in successive transfer windows.

 

Yeah that's a good point, completely blanked the fact he moved to them from Cardiff in the summer.

why are we looking for another striker? none of the options have more goals than Guly and if we are looking for a speedy forward then young Sinclair from the youth team fits that bill, scoring goals does not seem a prob at the moment

 

We don't have a problem scoring goals, but we do have a problem with strength in depth.

 

Need a striker to help Rickie away from home.

Nope just stating fact, we have connolly coming back which is great. But given his age and injury history I doubt he will last the season. Barnard I doubt we will see again tbh. At home we are fine you have Lambert and the in form Guly. Away we just have Rickie. It's as simple as that we need 1 or 2 players at least. Preferably a striker this inturn will hopefully give Guly the kick up the arse he needs away from home.

At home we can sorter get away with not having depth atm, barring a injury.

 

Guly has scored goals, but he is most definately not a forward. There were a couple of occasions today when a proper striker would of got shots off in the positions he was in or would of known what to do straight away rather than having to think about it. Tbh with the amount of chances we can create in games we could probably stick a keeper up front and he would get a couple of goals after a few games, but that still wouldn't make him a forward.

 

I have it on good knowledge that we are in talks with a striker from Stoke City about coming here in Jan. my cousin is engaged to him. I promised not to tell so will save some honour by not giving his name.........but the saints fan in me will say he was on bench last night
