Are you dropping hints with the italics of "irons". Who else other than Hooper or Sharp...? Only other one that stands out is Beckford. Surely not?

I think this Sharp stuff shows how clueless the media as a whole are. I thought his release fee was £3.2m?

There's a line between speculation and accusation. How does one know we are "messing Sharp about" without being in the negotiation room?

You're probably right. I was going on something someone posted about Sharp being ready to go, so I was raising speculation to fact.

Fair enough. I tend not to believe anything about transfers posted on the internet, unless it's on our OS :)

But where would be the fun in that?

Personally I think Nicola and Nige are playing a very clever game. It seems like they have a list of 4/5 obtainable forwards that would improve on what we have and also be capable of stepping up to the Premiership. Deals have a way of getting done very fast on deadline day, so now it's all about flitting about seeing how much you can shave off prices. Remember, everyone thought Jos was a panic buy, when he turned out to be excellent, just be patient.

With Rickie, Lee Barnard, Tadanari, Guly, and Connolly all in the mixer, i don't really feel we need another striker...a winger/centre back would be more useful!

Barnard isn't fit and has the court case soon. Connolly won't be able to play every game and may pick up another niggling injury. That leaves Lambert and Guly with Lee as back up.

Yeah, we need to be thinking of the future too, and bringing in players who can do a job in the premier league. Lee is hopefully one, but Barnard and Connolly probably aren't.

Barnard is fit, he's starting today. And if we are thinking about the future, we ought not get too many players in one position, or else there'll be no pathway for the youth to break into the first team

Well he's a good enough striker to have scored the most goals for us from open play this season...even more so than Lambert!

He has yes but when we were at our best earlier in the season, playing teams off the park guly was playing on the right. I feel thats his best position in the team.
