I'm convinced them trainers are purely bought to show people how much they can spend on trainers. Not sure why else people would spend so much on them as they are horrible chunky things that look like some sort of medical aid from the 90's.
If we were to sign him I'd be very happy. But I'm also fine not signing him. Would much rather there was a resolution though so people can stop thinking about it. It's ironic - on paper we have possibly (so far) had our best window in my lifetime. We have brought in a highly rated full back, a commanding centre back who is championship level, and two former wonder kids who could still be premier league players one day. Yet people might leave the window with a sour taste because we don't sign a 39 year old striker. Now I know it's THAT 39 year old striker. But when you put it that way, its a shame if this cause negative energy. We should be extremely pleased with what the club has done SO FAR. Another centre mid and any decent striker cover and I'm happy as Larry.
Decent point this. Not many games left. And we could really do with somebody who is training and fit and perhaps scoring for fun at U23 level and needs first team football, and can come straight onto the bench rather than need a few weeks to get fit. Rather than somebody who is at a bakery buying bagels.
I even think we’d need to offload a centre mid before we’ve got one. We currently have four decent ones albeit one injured and one often injured but there’s a danger we have too many. We absolutely need a second striker who can play week in week out and score if Stewart is out. That just isn’t Defoe whatever he does bring.
If you rearrange the first letters from the blackboard menu of hot drinks they read CALL MATE. Obviously a cryptic message to LJ...its happening.
Best window for me, although not necessarily for the players was the Keane Championship window where we seemed to sign about 6 on deadline day and they kept popping up on SSN.
Over the moon if Defoe comes but trust us to have a plan b ready if not, strange going into the last few days of a window with full faith in the board
