The good news is we aren't losing Stewart this window.

The bad news is his value in the summer is going to be much lower than it should be.

Desperately need him signing that contract now.

2? You'd have Stewart, Gelhardt and 2 more to fight over 1 position?

1 is enough in my opinion. Ideally it's Simms on a perm.
If it is a long term injury to Stewart, and I hope to God its not, it would be prudent to get in another 2, we have already played some of the season without any strikers, just my opinion judged on the bad luck we have had with injuries.

What you're suggesting though is to protect ourselves against the possibility of having 3 strikers injured, which is a little too much of a safety net in my opinion. We don't have an unlimited budget, clubs are not going to loan us strikers to sit on the bench as an emergency and I wouldn't want us to spend money on a 4th choice striker.

Just my opinion mate, again once bitten twice shy

People on Twitter reckon Achilles. If that’s gone he’s out until Christmas most likely. Not often you get stretchered off with a hamstring injury

Luckily we’re not trying to replace a ruthless striker in Stewart, more a striker who’s a great all rounder which I think someone like geldhart could possibly step up to. He’s just obviously missing the height, but his finishing looks better than Stewarts. I think Geldhart and another striker ie Simms would be fine.

I wouldn’t be listening to anything just yet mate, he was injured half an hour ago. He won’t have even left the stadium yet never mind had a scan.

We still have to be realistic with any incoming striker now that Ross is injured. If we still want him to sign his contract (which of course we do), then his wages, and Gephardt's wages all need to be taken into account. We can't likely up how much we are able to offer a new striker just because Ross is injured.

Credit where it’s due, and it’s not the right thread - but Patterson was incredible today. Given him my fair share of stick but have to hold my hands up he was top drawer.

Can’t remember us playing that well in a long time. Nearly 30 shots against a decent premier league team doesn’t even do it justice, we cut through their defence time after time. Need to take those chances.
