I'm only expecting Montoya and M'Vila in January. Or 2 others in the same spot.

I know we don't have the funds for all but I wouldn't mind an M'vila and Xhaka. Would instantly transform our CM. Xhaka to be the playmaker, threading the passing, powerful as well and M'vila to shield the back four so we can actually stop a counter attack. <laugh>

Will be interesting. I think it is weird January is almost ****ing here already! Been a fun season so far.

Alonso? Come home!!

I'd love it but I'm not convinced it would solve the problem as I think the issue is a lack of energy in the middle. As good as Xabi was/is, we miss Mascherano more than Alonso.

Is he the one that joined Man Utd and then argued that he wanted to join Chelsea before even attending a training session? Or was that Mikel?

Mikel. Lass played at Arsenal, Chelsea, and Pompey ( when they won the FA and were good) before going to Real Madrid!

Fair enough, knew it was something like that but couldn't remember or be arsed to check <laugh>

He must be getting on a bit now though?

28 I think? Ya, depends on the price too but he has the experience and should still be in the prime to be able to help out.

DIMITAR BERBATOV is looking to leave Fulham in the January transfer window, and could emerge as a shock target for Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea.

Former Manchester United striker Berbatov has scored just once in the Premier League for Fulham this season, a barren run that contributed to Martin Jol's sacking.

And the 32-year-old has had enough at Craven Cottage, with his agent revealing he is unhappy at the West London club and hoping to leave in January.

"I don't usually speculate as nobody knows what will happen in January but what I can tell you is he (Berbatov) is not happy at Fulham," Emil Dantchev said.

"He would like, if possible, to find another option.

"I cannot comment (on whether there has been any approach) but the priority is to find a solution to stay in England."

Berbatov's inclination to stay in the Premier League could spark interest from a number of top clubs.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger tracked the Bulgarian when he was at Bayer Leverkusen and could be tempted to return for his services to provide back-up to Olivier Giroud.

Berbatov's contract expires in the summer and Fulham may be prepared to cash in on a player looking for a way out as they head into a relegation battle under new boss Rene Muelensteen.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is on the lookout for more firepower, with Burnley hitman Danny Ings the latest target mooted at Anfield.

However, Rodgers may see Berbatov as a good cover option for Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge in the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has had his troubles with the strikeforce at his disposal this term, and may be persuaded to gamble on Berbatov's undoubted talents despite his work rate remaining an issue throughout his career.

Fulham take on Tottenham tonight in Meulensteen's first match in charge, who refused to comment on the situation.

Thoughts on us getting Berbatov...?

IMO, he is a quality player that shouldn't be too effected by age considering his style of play. However, he would irratate the **** out of me with his laziness on the pitch and I can't see Suarez, Gerrard, Sturridge or Gerrard being too impressed with someone not putting the effort in.

He would only be a squad player though IMO, Sturridge would still be first pick.

No thanks to Berbatov. Short term option when we should be looking long term.

Wouldn't mind Hernandez is Moyes doesn't fancy him at United.

Bayer Leverkusen winger Sidney Sam is heading for the BayArena exit door in the summer, with Schalke having joined the race for the Germany international.

Sam is a wanted man and will have a number of options if he quits Sami Hyypia's men, with Liverpool leading the charge from England, and Wolfsburg German admirers.

A clause in the winger's contract, which means he can leave in the summer for just €2.5m, has made him a very attractive proposition for several clubs.

And according to German daily Bild, Sam is likely to leave Leverkusen at the end of the season, with Schalke having emerged as his latest suitors.
